Job summary

BigStep Technologies is seeking a skilled Full-Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails) with 5+ years of experience to join our product teams in India. You will build scalable, user-focused features and maintain high-performance platforms.

You will work with Sidekiq, RSpec, Jest, Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD tools, participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborating with distributed teams to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Proficient with Ruby on Rails and Ruby.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data storage.
• Experience with Sidekiq, RSpec, and Jest.
• Strong Git and CI/CD tooling knowledge (GitHub Actions).
• Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes; able to manage deployments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, maintainable code across the stack.
• Manage framework upgrades, dependencies, and health of applications.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and S3-like storage when needed.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and optimize performance.

The candidate should have experience in building scalable, user-focused features and maintaining high-performance platforms. They must also be proficient with Sidekiq, RSpec, Jest, Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD tools. They should bring strong problem-solving skills, write clean, reliable code, and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.

• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the full stack
• Manage framework upgrades, dependencies, and overall application health
• Work effectively with data storage systems such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Amazon S3
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues
• Help maintain high standards of code quality, organization, and automation
• Write unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure code reliability
• Ensure delivered features meet business requirements and technical specifications
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies
• Communicate effectively within a distributed team using tools such as Slack, Zoom, and JIRA.

Skills Required

• Experience with Ruby on Rails and idiomatic Ruby development
• Basic understanding of React and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience with background job processing tools like Sidekiq
