Job summary

MonotaRO Technologies India Private Limited is seeking an RTB engineer to join our global technology team. You will design and develop RTB servers, integrate with exchanges using OpenRTB, and optimize performance for scalable campaigns.

Role requires 3–5 years in digital advertising, strong Java and Spring Boot experience, and a solid foundation in distributed systems. You will work with our product team on feature delivery and data-driven optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; strong coding skills.
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, software design.
• 3–5 years in digital display advertising; mobile/video ads a plus.
• Proficient in Java and Java EE (J2EE) frameworks.
• 2+ years building RTB systems; OpenRTB knowledge essential.
• Experience with web tech and distributed systems; Hibernate, NIO a plus.
• Memory leak detection, thread issues, GC tuning desirable.
• Kafka and ELK stack familiarity considered a plus.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture is advantageous.

As an RTB engineer, you will be a key resource with a strong foundation in AdTech (specifically RTB systems) and responsible for the development of our RTB servers, integrations with various exchanges, performance tuning and adding new features as per business requirements.

Objectives

• Design and maintain scalable, efficient code and integrate third-party services into Java applications.
• Build robust, high-performance, and resilient back-end systems to support various product requirements.
• Managing top SSP's & DSP's partners in the industry

Responsibilities

• Perform code and design reviews with the team to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Deliver highly scalable and reliable Java and Spring Boot Services.
• Develop code to integrate with various exchanges using OpenRTB/other protocols.
• Be responsible for campaign implementation, management and reporting
• Work with the product team to understand business requirements, and scope the development efforts.
• Analyze large datasets of driving data and digital advertising platform data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
• Monitor and tune the performance of RTB servers.
• Monitor campaigns and trouble shoot issues with internal support teams and external clients
• Perform code and design reviews with the team to ensure high quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Exceptional performance on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank can be considered in place of formal education.
• Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• 3-5 years experience in the digital display advertising industry. Experience with mobile and video advertising is a plus.
• Solid programming experience with Java and Java EE(J2EE) frameworks.
• 2+ years experience in building and maintaining RTB systems.
• Thorough knowledge of OpenRTB protocol.
• Experience with web technologies and/or distributed system development.
• Experience with Hibernate, NIO a plus.
• Experience in analyzing memory leaks, thread starvation, synchronization issues, thread and heap dumps a plus
• Understanding of GC policy and tuning an added plus
• Experience with server side scripting (Good to have)
• Knowledge of Kafka, ELK(Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) is a plus
• Knowledge of microservice architecture is a plus.
