Archetype Consulting seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications. You will work across .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Node.js, and Azure to deliver RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern front-end interfaces using Angular or React.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of hands-on experience, strong SQL Server/MongoDB skills, and a track record of secure authentication and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET and Node.js.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
• Experience with Azure services and modern front-end frameworks (Angular/React).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Node.js, and Azure.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices following best practices.
• Build responsive UIs with Angular or React.
• Collaborate with PMs, lead engineers, QA, and developers to meet requirements.
• Work with SQL Server, MongoDB, and Cosmos DB.
• Implement authentication with Azure AD, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or JWT.
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated tests.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance; drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and stay current with tech trends.

Job description

We are looking for a highly skilledSenior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in .NET, ASP.NET Core, Node.js, Azure Cloud, SQL Server, MongoDB, and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Experience in Healthcare, Insurance, or Employee Benefits domains will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and high-performance applications using .NET Core/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Node.js, and Azure.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.
• Build and enhance responsive user interfaces using Angular or React.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Lead Engineers, QA Engineers, and fellow developers to understand business requirements and deliver robust technical solutions.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, MongoDB, and Cosmos DB.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or JWT.
• Participate in application design discussions and contribute to architecture and technical decision-making.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers by promoting coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support automated testing initiatives.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and implement continuous improvements.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and engineering practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cosmos DB.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including:
• Azure App Services
• Azure Functions
• Azure API Management (APIM)
• Azure Storage
• Azure Service Bus (preferred)
• Experience with front-end development using Angular or React.
• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Healthcare, HealthTech, Insurance, or Employee Benefits platforms.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or Serilog.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
