Job summary

Nestdigital in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India seeks a Senior Software Engineer-Kubernetes Platform Engineer to lead Kubernetes administration and platform operations.

You will drive policy governance, security and automation across cloud and on‑prem environments, with emphasis on Kyverno, OPA Gatekeeper, and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with DevOps, security and application teams to deliver scalable, compliant platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Kubernetes administration, cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
• Strong hands‑on experience operating cloud platforms, primarily AWS or Azure.
• Hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes management including upgrading and patching.
• Experience in creating and managing policies for cloud workloads.
• Scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell, and YAML.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI/CD, for infrastructure automation.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, monitoring, and backup concepts.
• Experience supporting production cloud environments and resolving operational incidents.
• Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with application, DevOps, and security teams.
• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments is an advantage.
• AWS or Azure certifications (Associate or Professional) are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Kubernetes security controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements across multiple clusters.
• Monitor Kubernetes platforms, troubleshoot cluster and application issues, and resolve platform incidents.
• Support Kubernetes cluster upgrades, patching, capacity management, and platform optimization activities.
• Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and resilience solutions for Kubernetes environments.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, cloud, and security teams to support workload onboarding and adherence to platform standards.
• Develop and maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, and governance standards.

1. JOB PURPOSE:

Seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer with deep Kubernetes administration expertise and experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. The role is focused on Kubernetes policy management, governance, security, and platform operations, ensuring scalable, compliant, and reliable Kubernetes environments through automation, standardization, and best practices.
