Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru, Karnataka, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement scalable, high-throughput software solutions in a microservices and cloud-native environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to code quality through tests and reviews in a fast-paced Scrum setting.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring, AWS, SQL/NoSQL, GraphQL, and modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or ReactJS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering with full lifecycle experience.
• Strong Java, Spring, SQL/AuroraDB, NoSQL (MongoDB) experience for scalable services.
• Experience with GraphQL and Graph DBs.
• 5+ years internet technologies and microservices architecture.
• 5+ years developing cloud-native apps, preferably AWS.
• Experience with JavaScript and frameworks like Angular/ReactJS.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low-latency, scalable and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and partners to propose extensible, reusable and performant solutions.
• Proactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementations.
• Experiment, develop proofs of concept with relevant new technologies.
• Conduct code review pull-requests with consistent scrutiny.
• Able to work independently to analyze and solve issues as an individual contributor.
• Troubleshoot, fix problems reported in lower and production environments.
• Write unit and component tests to ensure delivery of high quality code.
• Monitor and proactively improve production run quality of applications.
• Work in a scrum team and provide your daily updates.
• Estimate effort for assigned development tasks, assist in estimating level of effort for less senior level developers.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ Years of software engineering, analysis and design with full software development lifecycle experience.
• Java, Spring Framework, SQL (AuroraDB) and NoSQL-based databases (MongoDB), writing complex SQL queries and building highly scalable and highly performant distributed applications and web services experience.
• Exposure to GraphQL / Graph DBs
• 5+ years Internet technologies, microservices architectures experience.
• 5+ Developing cloud native applications, preferably in AWS experience
• Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular (8.2.13)/ ReactJS

Secondary

• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming with an understanding of design principles

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the commerce space and products / pricing / inventory domains

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience
• Bachelors Degree in computer science or similar field or related equivalent experience
• Domain knowledge in multiple technical and business areas
