MakeMyTrip is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – II (Backend) in Bangalore. You will design and implement high-performance microservices in Java/J2EE, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security.

You’ll work with data structures, design patterns, and async flows, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment. Prior experience in high-scale tech-product companies and Agile methods is preferred. B.Tech/BE and 4–6 years of experience are required.

• Expert-level knowledge of Java/J2EE and designing/building large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Deep expertise in Agile methodologies and collaborating with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Low level design and coding of backend systems in Java, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
• Build and maintain microservices-based applications; optimize and refactor for performance.
• Provide technical insights and share knowledge with team members to solve complex challenges.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) to design and optimize schemas and queries for high-availability applications.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Low level Design and coding to develop backend systems using Java, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Very good understanding of Data structure, design patterns and async flow. Build and maintain microservices-based applications, optimizing and refactoring them to improve performance and functionality.
• Provide technical insights and share knowledge with team members to solve complex challenges.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) to design, query, and optimize database schemas and queries for high-availability applications.
