Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer- Golang to join the MSC team. You will build service layers powering the content supply chain and lead the design of complex features for media workflows and metadata delivery.

You should have 5–8 years of software development experience, strong Go skills (mandatory), and experience with Java (Spring), Node.js, and cloud providers (AWS preferred). The role offers growth and a collaborative, agile environment.

The Content Systems Engineering (MSC) team builds applications and services that power Warner Bros. Discovery’s content supply chain, supporting the entire media lifecycle—from idea to distribution. Our solutions enable thousands of internal users to seamlessly produce and distribute content across platforms, including Discovery+.

The Metadata Syndication Service (MSS) team, part of (MSC) team, specializes in integrating, validating, transforming, and delivering content metadata to partners. Our mission is to ensure accurate, efficient metadata delivery, enhancing content discovery and direct-to-consumer (D2C) reach. By streamlining data integration and delivery, MSS supports system interoperability and timely access to essential content.

We’re looking for a developer who can be an integral part of our new development team in Warner Bros. Discovery’s Bangalore office.

• Build application service layers to support Warner Bros. Discovery’s content supply chain
• Lead design and development of complex feature enhancements within the supply chain software
• Support other engineers on your team in their growth, learning and development
• Describe and defend your design and code decisions to other engineers, embrace constructive feedback, and adapt your approach to align with team and company standards and objectives.
• Offer enhancements to best practices, document, design, and architecture improvements, and as feedback through code reviews to other engineers without continuous prompting or recurring encouragement. Other engineers appreciate your feedback.
• Troubleshoot a production issue by reviewing source code, logs, operational metrics, stack trace etc. to pinpoint a specific problem and then resolve it.

What to Bring:

• 5 - 8 years of experience as a software developer
• High proficiency and technical leadership with technologies on our stack including Go (mandatory), Java (Spring) and Node JS
• Experience in working with any one cloud provider (AWS (preffered) / GCP/ Azure)
• Deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures, with a commitment to technical excellence
• Establish robust testing, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms
• Experience working within a SAFe Agile team, collaborating with others to build software and iteratively improve it
• You have a proven track record of designing and building applications for media workflows, media catalogs, and asset registries
• You are an effective communicator, demonstrating this in your discussions with the team and stakeholders and through your documentation
• You solve business problems with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices.
• You deliver high-quality results the first time and improve code, documentation, and results with each iteration. Your team trusts your work.
