Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on Factory Design solutions. You will design, implement, test, and maintain a browser-based Tandem Simulation tool, working with AI-assisted development tools and cloud services.

The role requires 6–8 years of experience building robust web applications using JavaScript, Node.js, and modern frameworks, with a strong emphasis on scalable, secure code and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 6-8 years of industry experience building robust, performant, and maintainable commercial web applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and agentic AI technologies, including Cursor and Claude Code.
• Proficiency in frontend development (JavaScript/HTML/CSS) and frameworks like React, Angular or Vue.
• Proficiency in backend development frameworks such as NodeJS, GoLang.
• Experience building Progressive Web Applications.
• Experience with databases like MySQL, MongoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, OSS, RDS) and cloud architectures.
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English.

Autodesk is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team focused on shaping the future of Factory Design solutions in Autodesk. We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic about delivering innovative solutions aimed at providing a Device Independent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of software development for web applications. Tandem Simulation is a browser-based solution for Factory Layout and Discrete Event Simulation closely connected to Operations’ Solutions on a common platform that improves productivity, efficiency and helps reduce operational bottlenecks by providing actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the application

• Use AI-driven development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code in day-to-day engineering workflows to improve development velocity, code quality, debugging, and delivery efficiency
• Embrace an event-driven architecture mindset and apply it to software design and development

• Utilize web debugging techniques to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
• Leverage cloud technologies, including AWS services such as S3, OSS, and RDS, for scalable and reliable solutions

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• 6-8 years of industry experience building and delivering robust, performant, and maintainable commercial web applications
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and agentic AI technologies, including tools such as Cursor and Claude Code
• Proficiency in frontend development such as JavaScript/HTML/CSS
• Experience with frontend development frameworks like React, Angular or Vue
• Proficiency in backend development frameworks such as NodeJS, GoLang
• Experience building Progressive Web Applications
• Experience with database technologies e.g. MySQL, MongoDB
• Experience with build and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as S3, OSS, and RDS
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with agentic software-development workflows, including Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or comparable structured AI-assisted development practices
• Experience creating reusable skills, workflows, rules, prompts, or agent configurations that improve engineering consistency, productivity, and efficiency
• Experience optimizing the cost and efficiency of AI usage, including model selection, prompt/context optimization, token usage, and balancing quality, latency, and cost
• Masters in Computer Science #LI-KS2
