Job summary

As a Senior Software Engineer at Cotiviti, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, resilient services for mission-critical applications used by internal and external customers. You will own end-to-end delivery of features, guide architecture decisions, and mentor engineers, while collaborating with senior developers, offshore teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years software development experience, backend in Node.js.
• Strong React and TypeScript frontend expertise.
• Experience on AWS serverless backend development.
• Micro-frontend architectures and SPA tooling experience.
• REST APIs, microservices, event-driven apps experience.

Senior Software Engineer Full Stack (React, Node.js, AWS)

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Software Engineer at Cotiviti, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, resilient services for mission-critical applications used by internal and external customers. You will own end-to-end delivery of features, guide architecture decisions, and mentor engineers, while collaborating with senior developers, offshore teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Support backend services on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, Step Functions, Kinesis, SQS, and other cloud-native technologies.
• Lead and execute application modernization and technology transformation initiatives, including migration to Angular or React-based architectures.
• Work within an AI-Driven Software Development Life Cycle (AIDLC), leveraging AI-first and agentic engineering practices to improve software delivery.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent AI coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality.
• Enforcing coding standards and promoting engineering best practices.
• Design and implement event-driven, microservices-based applications and RESTful APIs with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, including build, automated testing, security scanning, and deployment stages, using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bamboo, with automated quality gates before promotion across environments.
• Support production deployments and lead the triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of critical production issues.
• Represent the engineering team during production releases and customer engagements, addressing technical discussions and implementation-related queries.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, secure coding practices, automated quality checks, observability, and resilient application design.

REQUIRED SKILLS

8–10 years of software development experience, including backend development with Node.js.

• Strong expertise in React, and TypeScript, with the ability to define front-end architecture and standards.
• Experience on AWS services backend development on serverless architecture
• Hands-on experience with micro-frontend architectures (Webpack Module Federation, single-spa, Nx, XState, or similar).
• Hands on experience on open source workflow based frameworks Temporal, Flowable etc
• Proven experience building REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications.
• Experience with unit, integration, and performance testing using frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Selenium.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, or similar tools.
• Good understanding of Git workflows, software architecture, and application design principles.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, including IAM, OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication, and authorization.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent AI coding agents.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Terraform Cloud
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Octopus, or Jenkins

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
