The Digital & Innovation group at USP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our digital products development teams.
As part of our mission to advance scientific rigor and public health standards, you will play a vital role in increasing global access to high-quality medicines through public standards and related programs. USP prioritizes scientific integrity, regulatory excellence, and evidence-based decision-making to ensure health systems worldwide can rely on strong, tested, and globally relevant quality standards.

The Senior Software Engineer has the following responsibilities:
Design and build scalable applications using React, Node.js, and Java Spring Boot.
Explore and integrate AI-driven solutions to improve digital products and workflows.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:
Experience with js and Java Spring Boot (Preferred) or any other equivalent
Hands-on knowledge of microservices architecture
Relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL (Preferred) or any equivalent
In‑memory data store: Redis , Memcached or any other equivalent
Experience with GraphQL clients (Apollo Client)
Familiarity with SQLite DB Browser for local database inspection
Solid understanding of Cloud technologies with preferred technology being AWS and corresponding services like EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway
Experience with Docker for containerization and application deployment
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
Strong appetite for learning and applying AI/ML technologies in real-world use cases
Experience working with engineering teams using JIRA / Confluence
Familiar with AI‑assisted design & prototyping tools (Figma Make, Claude, v0)
Solution‑oriented problem‑solver with strong organizational and multitasking skills
Exposure to regulated industries like Pharma is a plus
