Senior Software Engineer – C++/Linux Multimedia Engineer

Join Quest Global as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on high‑performance multimedia applications on Linux. You will design, develop, and optimize C++ software for audio and video streaming using GStreamer and related frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient C++ code for multimedia applications on Linux.
• Develop custom GStreamer plugins and pipelines for audio/video streaming, recording, and playback.
• Integrate and optimize audio post‑processing frameworks to enhance sound quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug multimedia pipelines and system components for high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate multimedia components with hardware, other software modules, and third‑party libraries.
• Work with audio/video codecs (H.264, H.265, AAC, Opus) to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
• Develop multi‑threaded, event‑driven Linux applications using inter‑process communication (IPC).
• Keep abreast of new technologies and industry trends in multimedia development.
• Maintain technical documentation for software components and systems.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of C++ software development on Linux.
• Proven expertise with GStreamer – pipeline design, plugin development, troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of audio/video codecs, formats, containers, and streaming protocols (RTP, RTSP).
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented design and development.
• Experience with audio post‑processing techniques and frameworks.
• Familiarity with multithreaded programming and synchronization mechanisms in Linux.
• Strong debugging skills using GDB, Valgrind, etc.
• Proficiency with Git.
• Preferred: experience with FFmpeg, VLC, SIP, WebRTC, GPU computing for multimedia acceleration, Agile development, embedded Linux.
