Job summary

Crunchyroll is seeking a Senior Software Backend Engineer to join the Service Monetization Team. You will architect, build and optimize the subscriptions and payments platform powering membership and revenue for Crunchyroll.

You will work with design, product, quality and data teams to solve complex challenges, improve performance, and deliver reliable backend services at scale for millions of payments across global fans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Strong backend development experience
• Proficient in Java, Go, Python, PHP, or TypeScript/Node.js
• Experience with cloud platforms and services like AWS
• Experience with PCI compliance and payments domain is a plus

About The Role

As a Senior Software Backend Engineer on the Service Monetization Team, you will help shape the future of our Service Monetization Platform. You will architect, build and optimize our subscriptions and payments platform that enables membership and powers revenue collection for Crunchyroll. Working with design, product, quality and data teams, you will solve complex challenges, optimize performance, and enhance user experience, directly contributing to the growth of the Crunchyroll fanbase. In the role of Senior Software Backend Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager in the Service Monetization organization.

About The Team

The Service Monetization organization is responsible for building, maintaining, and securing systems that enable membership and collect payments information for Crunchyroll users. We are directly tied to many streams of revenue and pride ourselves on quality code, service reliability, and teamwork. Our day to day work includes integrations with payment providers, payments fraud detection and prevention, optimizations to reduce passive churn while maintaining PCI compliance. Our services process millions of payments in a highly secure, distributed, and scalable environment that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of both our fans and growing Crunchyroll business!
