Job summary

TransPerfect Inc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET, C#, REST APIs, microservices, and AWS. You will own technical delivery across the SDLC and contribute to architecture decisions while improving reliability and performance.

The role requires strong ownership, hands-on coding, and collaborative problem solving within an existing codebase and product team. Excellent English communication is essential.

Job description

The Senior Software Engineer - Backend is a key engineering role responsible for designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend applications and services. The role works closely with software development teams and product managers to design and deliver software solutions using modern .NET, C#, REST APIs, microservice architecture, and AWS. The position requires strong technical ownership across the software development lifecycle, including solution design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, security, performance optimization, and production deployment support. The role is also expected to contribute to technical design decisions, code quality, application reliability, and continuous improvement while effectively understanding and working within an existing product architecture and codebase

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong hands-on programming experience with modern .NET and C#.

• Experience developing and maintaining backend web applications and services.

• Strong experience developing REST APIs and applying software design patterns.

• Experience with microservice architecture and cloud-based application development.

• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and messaging/queue-based architectures (e.g., pub-sub, message brokers, or ESB-style integration).

• Proficiency with Git and a modern distributed version control workflow (branching, pull/merge requests, CI integration).

• Experience with application testing and debugging.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Good understanding of application security and data protection practices.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• 5-7 years of overall software development experience.

• Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining web applications on AWS.

• Hands-on experience developing backend applications and services using the technologies and practices specified in this job description.

• Proven experience working across the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

• Experience working effectively within an existing product architecture and codebase.

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical deliverables and resolve complex software issues.
