Job summary

Air Arabia seeks an experienced Android developer to deliver native apps and manage end-to-end Android delivery. You will own Kotlin-based development, integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, and ensure robust testing, performance, and security across production apps.

The candidate will collaborate with product teams and IT to translate business needs into scalable mobile solutions, while adhering to architectural standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Fluent in English Language.

Responsibilities

• Delivers software products and components for ISA provides technology expertise and contributes to technology stack, design, development, deployment and automated testing.
• In collaboration with product team, project managers, and IT solutions managers, assists in translating business needs into technical implementations in line with the architectural principles laid down for ISA products.
• Assists in testing and implementation of technical solutions; reviews technical documentation, user guides, training manuals, and system specifications ensuring quality, compliance, and completeness.
• Assists in reviewing and providing feedback on specifications and information of the architectural design provided by product team.
• Co-identifies the technical tools and languages needed for the design execution in line with adopted standards.
• Ensures the User Interfaces used for the product are in line with requirements and correctly implemented.
• Assists in identifying and implementing best practices, new trends, and emerging technologies that bring best value to ISA; partners with cross-functional teams to explore adoption of such technologies.
• Assists in implementing agreed remedies and preventative measures in compliance with the architecture.
• Provides status reports to specialists, users, and managers as requested.
• Maintains knowledge sharing within ISA to empower other team members.

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)

• Bachelors degree in IT Engineering,Computer Science,Information Technology or equivalent.
• Fluent in English Language.

Work Experience

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of native Android delivery and owning apps in production. Travel, airline, or transactional/e-commerce platform experience is preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency in native Android development with Kotlin (Java where required), the Android SDK, and Jetpack (Compose, coroutines, and architecture components).
• Strong experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs, offline-first data, local persistence (Room/SQLite), background work, and push notifications.
• Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD, automated build and test, and Google Play release management.
• Strong grounding in testing (unit, instrumentation, UI, and end-to-end).
• Fluent in English Language.
• Able to diagnose performance, reliability, and security issues across the stack.
• Working knowledge of mobile observability and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics, Datadog, or equivalent).
• Good understanding of secure coding and OWASP Mobile practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrates ownership and consistent delivery against squad KPIs.
