Job summary

Maersk in Pune, India seeks a seasoned Java software engineer to lead delivery across design, development, testing and production support. You will combine technical leadership with strong communication, agile practices, and customer-focused ownership.

The role requires 9+ years in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, microservices and cloud CICD, plus proven ability to mentor teams and drive robust, scalable solutions in a fast-paced global environment.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics & Telecommunications.
• Highly analytical mind-set and excellent problem-solving skills.
• A minimum of 9+ years’ experience as a Java developer (Java/J2EE), Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka & Web services (gRPC/REST).

The ideal Candidate Java software delivery across design, development, testing, and production support. It combines technical leadership with strong communication, agile expertise, and customer-focused ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Story refinement to design best possible solution considering business processes, technical viability, best practices and architectural standards.
• Highlight all risks and issues that affect the proposed solution.
• Develop robust and defensible code following high standards and in accordance with current framework.
• Provide constructive feedback and review code effectively.
• Use and maintain the specification documents.
• Further design and implement our automated test cases.

Required experience

• Highly passionate engineer with BE/B.Tech. in Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics & Telecommunications.
• Highly analytical mind-set and excellent problem-solving skills.
• A minimum of 9+ years’ experience as a Java developer (Java/J2EE), Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka & Web services (gRPC/REST).
• Can lead a team autonomously, remotely and independently.
• Hands-on experience using AI co-pilots tools for Vibe coding (e.g., GitHub Copilot, GPT models, Claude code).
• Curiosity to explore evolving AI technologies and experiment with libraries/tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, Spring AI (Java or Python) etc.
• Familiarity with AI platforms and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to communicate with business Experts, IT Governance and other IT DevOps teams
• Passion for quick learning, experimenting and adapting in a fast-paced agile global environment
• Expert in agile/iterative software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Expertise on Cloud Environments an CICD process (Jenkins / GitHub)
• Expertise on JIRA and Confluence
• Database Expertise: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MS SQL
• Stream-processing Knowledge: Kafka, Azure Event Hub
• Exposure and experience across thebelow technology stack is ideal
