Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its Corporate Solutions team in Pune. The role blends hands-on development with quality engineering to deliver a resilient, automated product. You will contribute to design, implementation, testing, documentation and support, following Mastercard standards.

The candidate will review code, participate in design patterns, and drive automation, API and UI testing within a cross-functional, hybrid-work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience building scalable, multi-threaded software.
• Experience with Angular, Java, Spring, Maven/Gradle, PL/SQL, Unix scripting on Tomcat.
• Experience with SOAP and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of PCF and AWS Cloud Native Development.
• CI/CD using Jenkins.
• Test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Rest-assured, TestNG, Postman.
• Strong understanding of Java/microservices design patterns.
• Good communication and ability to work in dynamic teams.
• Experience with Agile methodology.

Senior Software Engineer

Overview

The Corporate Solutions team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help achieve time-to-market, quality excellence, and higher customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. A Senior Software Engineer position at Mastercard requires hybrid skills that involves hands-on knowledge of software development & quality engineering to develop a resilient software product that is testable in close to fully automated manner. Additionally, role requires in depth understanding of design patterns and perform code reviews.

Role

You will be responsible for programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of systems application software in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes, and best practices. Responsibilities include the following:

• Develop high quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical requirements specifications and design artifacts within expected time and budget.
• Research, create and evaluate technical solution alternatives for the business needs current and future.
• Work with project team to meet scheduled due dates, while identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
• Document software programs per Software Development Best Practices
• Follow MasterCard Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
• Contribute ideas to help ensure that required standards and processes are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
• Support collection and reporting of project and software metrics
• Design and develop test automation scenarios to validate system to system interfaces and complete software solutions (for API and UI tests)
• Closely adhere to quality standards and assist team members in validating application functionality through the implementation of test strategies, frameworks, tools, reports, etc.
• Provide automation tests for operations teams to use in Ci/Cd automated quality gates.
• Identify and implement complex automation efforts, including refactoring of automation code where needed.

All about You

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
• 5-10 years of strong hands-on experience of working on Scalable, Multi-threaded software products developed using core Angular, Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Batch Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle, PL/SQL, Unix/Shell scrips and deployed on Tomcat.
• Strong hands-on experience of working on both SOAP & RESTFUL APIs
• Knowledge of Cloud Native Development such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) & AWS
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Good to have working on Test Automation Frameworks & related tools such as Selenium, Rest-assured, TestNG, Postman
• Good understanding of Java/microservices design patterns is expected.
• Knowledge of common industry standard best programming practices.
• Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems.
• Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decisions.
• Ability to learn and deploy new technologies as needed.
• Experience in building scalable, maintainable applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication along with the Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Experience using the Agile Methodology and working with cross functional teams.
