Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Java Engineer for its FIX Engineering team in India. You will join a seasoned group addressing high-impact challenges and collaborate globally to implement technical strategy for engineering products.

You will contribute to design, development and delivery, working on Java-based services, REST/WS, and integration with FIX connectivity. The role offers exposure to cloud, orchestration and modern tooling in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant knowledge of Java.
• Significant experience in a software development and delivery role.
• Two of: Spring Boot REST and WebSocket services, SQL (Oracle/Sybase).
• Experience with Azure PaaS, Kubernetes/AKS, Terraform, Helm, GitLab CI or AWS equivalents.
• Working knowledge of FIX products and connectivity.
• Experience in Business and Technical Analysis, QA, or delivery governance is a plus.

The FIX Engineering team is recruiting a Java Engineer to play a crucial role in our organization. The successful candidate will become part of a well-established engineering team which addresses complex challenges in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This provides a phenomenal opportunity for individuals who enjoy solving a variety of problems and who relish the chance to be responsible for the resolution of exciting and new challenges on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues globally to build and implement the technical strategy for a set of Engineering Products. They will ensure business requirements are applied and lean on their experience of software engineering and development lifecycles to lead change in exciting software challenges and customer solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Demonstrates proven understanding of a single or multiple technologies and advises on design, development and implementation
• Advances tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code and reviews others' code when required
• Manages own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
• Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in engineering and is regarded as the specialist in their domain to understand linkages and dependencies
• Understands the tech strategy, and how they impact own work as well as adjacent teams
• Coordinates the design work and planning for user stories to achieve the desired objectives
• Contributes to the creation of solutions for Epics and the associated implementation tasks
• Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
• Develops understanding of LSEG's commercial direction and how technology is applied successfully
• Completes the delivery of given tasks with some guidance and oversight
• Builds positive relationships with senior internal partners, growing network and collaborating with colleagues in other domains/important areas.
• Communicates complex information clearly to relevant audiences
• Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through job learning, certifications and projects.
• Demonstrate capability to use AI to improve quality and productivity

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have:
• Significant knowledge of Java
• Significant experience in a Software development and delivery role
• Ideally a minimum of any two of the following Springboot REST and websocket services), SQL (Oracle/Sybase)
• Azure - PaaS (, AzureSQL, Kubernetes/AKS etc), terraform, helm, GitLab CI - or AWS equivalents
• Working knowledge of FIX products and connectivity
• Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance.
• Nice to have:
• Professional qualification or equivalent
• Basic financial understanding of trading systems and financial markets
