Job summary

Syndigo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Bengaluru team, working with Kotlin/Java, AWS, and modern tooling to deliver scalable content management and data delivery features. The role emphasizes collaboration, code excellence, and continuous improvement.

In this hybrid position, you will spend two days weekly in the Bangalore office and work with cross-functional teams to craft APIs and services that power our data-driven platform for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full-stack application development in Kotlin/Java and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Build out features and solutions to collect, moderate, and/or deliver user-generated content to our customers.
• Become an expert on multiple of our solutions and areas of our codebase, while understanding the larger architecture of our entire suite of solutions.
• Participate in technical brainstorming and knowledge transfer sessions; provide technical advice at a team level and a department level.
• Communicate across teams by collaborating with fellow engineers, product managers, UX designers, operations, and other development teams to build a holistic experience.
• Proactively identify pain points and potential issues within our architecture and code base, and proactively tackle tech debt.
• Contribute to each step of the product development process, from ideation and design, to planning and architecting, to building out the solution and infrastructure, to testing, to releasing, and maintenance.
• Participate, build, and implement department CI/CD, application monitoring, security, and general developer tooling initiatives
• Mentor more junior engineers
• Other duties as assigned

**This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week in our Bangalore office**

Senior Software Engineer will work closely with other engineers of varying disciplines (DevOps, QA, Front-End ReactJS, etc), product, as well as other parts of the organization. They craft applications in Java/Kotlin, leveraging AWS, CircleCI, and Terraform. We are always looking to adopt modern technology to solve business challenges. Responsibilities:

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 6+ years of full-stack application development in our language stack (Kotlin, Java) and with AWS
• 5+ years of experience developing APIs for front-end applications
• 5+ years of strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and large data sets
• 2+ years of experience leveraging and maintaining CI/CD tooling (CircleCI, Drone, GitHub Actions)
• 2+ years of experience leveraging infrastructure as code using Terraform
• 1+ years of experience with event-driven development (SQS, SNS, Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) and idempotent patterns
• Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)
• Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)
• Previous experience with object data stores (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, GCP Cloud Storage) and/or document data stores (AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, NoSQL)
• Previous experience building containerized applications (Docker) and deploying them to orchestration (AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
• Experience with source control tools such as Git
