Senior Software Engineer

What You Will Be Doing

• Participate in major initiatives and opportunities, demonstrating well‑rounded skills in communication, technology, and execution to bring a project from inception to general availability for customers.
• Play a key role in designing industry‑leading standards and solutions to develop new solutions and scale ChargePoint to support real‑time communication with millions of charging stations.
• Represent Cloud services by executing initiatives in collaboration with cross‑functional teams such as Product, Embedded Platform, Quality, Support, and Operations.
• Build real‑time Energy Management solutions that optimise EV charging efficiency and directly impact the business.
• Improve the team by contributing to code reviews, documentation, and the development process; champion organisational principles and help define and uphold them.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building back‑end software.
• Hands‑on experience with a JVM Language such as Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with modern software architecture components (Distributed Systems, Containerisation, Micro‑services, Observability, etc.).
• Experience in one of the cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
• Strong fundamentals in CS concepts—data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
