About the Role
We are looking for an Android Engineer who loves to tackle engineering problems like app performance, platform tooling, and building internal frameworks for code reuse. The engineer would be working on the mobile platform team that is responsible for providing engineering direction and building blocks to more than 80+ Android engineers.
What You Will Do
- Automate mechanisms to ensure app performance adheres to internal standards.
- Build tools to alleviate mobile engineers' development experience and productivity.
- Build dashboards and alerting systems around mobile app performance (using tools like Firebase, Instabug, and internal solutions).
- Foster a development culture that focuses on the quality of delivery.
- Create and maintain SDKs (networking, logging, design systems, analytics, etc.) that provide common solutions to products across all Android mobile teams.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Create excellent, clear, and insightful documentation (guidelines, best practices, how‑to, FAQs, etc.).
What You Will Need
- 5+ years of mobile engineering experience with Android as primary expertise.
- Experience working on projects (preferably Frameworks/SDKs) that involve collaborating with multiple teams.
- Ability to take (or pitch) technical decisions, own them, and raise impediments early if needed.
- Strong knowledge of architectural approaches, testing, and performance in mobile app development.
- Passion for building scalable and composable systems that last.
- Hands‑on engineer focused on writing easy‑to‑read code rather than over‑engineering.
- Strong communicator who can express ideas clearly and build consensus to push technical agendas.
