Job summary

Inovalon is hiring for a Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and deploy data-driven healthcare solutions. You will work across backend and frontend stacks and leverage Java, Python, JavaScript, and SQL/NoSQL databases to power scalable data platforms.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, microservices, and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP) with a focus on secure, performant applications in a fast-paced agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Enterprise Java development.
• 3+ years of JavaScript with modern UI frameworks (Angular, React, Vue).
• Deep experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proven experience in caching, queuing, scheduling, concurrency and event-driven architectures.
• Experience developing applications on Linux platforms.
• Proven track record of distributed systems and microservices (RESTful APIs).
• Knowledge of secure web application practices.
• Strong experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and/or other clouds.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, test, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools.
• Develop user-friendly, responsive web interfaces with modern frameworks.
• Work with Java, SQL, Python (backend) and JavaScript, HTML/CSS (frontend).
• Expert level knowledge of RDBMS/SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Deploy microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS managed services.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems and performance issues.
• Collaborate in fast-paced agile environments.
• Keep up with latest backend and frontend development trends.

The position is in the Data Platform Engineering team, which is helping our customers engineer smart and well-informed decisions, by harvesting the power of diverse and well-curated healthcare data, at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, test, support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies
• Design and develop user friendly, responsive web interfaces using modern web application frameworks
• Utilize programming languages like Java, SQL, Python (for the backend) and JavaScript, HTML/CSS (for the frontend)
• Should have expert level knowledge in RDBMS/SQL and NoSQL databases
• Deploy the micro services seamlessly using Container Orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS managed services and tools
• Adept at troubleshooting complex distributed systems and performance issues
• Should be a team player and excel in fast-paced agile environments
• Expecting a fast learner by keeping up with the latest trends and technologies in backend and front-end development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Master of Technology (MTech) or
• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Master of Sciences (MS) or
• Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Preferred Skills (Must Have)

• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Java development
• 3+ Years experience with JavaScript (with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue.js)
• Extensive experience in SQL and NoSQL technologies
• Demonstrated experience in Caching, queuing, scheduling, concurrent and event-driven architectures
• Demonstrated experience of developing applications on/for Linux platforms
• Should have proven track record of implementing distributed systems and microservice architectures (RESTful APIs)
• Involved knowledge of best practices for implementing secure web applications
• Strong experience with AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure, GCP and/or other clouds
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment techniques

Nice to have skills

• Experience in data pipelines would be an added advantage.
• Experience in Big Data technologies like Snowflake, Datastax would be a plus
