Role & responsibilities

Job Title: Senior Software Developer with GenAI (58 years experience)

Design, build, and ship features across a complex, workflow-driven product using a polyglot stack of Java, Python, Camunda, Angular, and n8n. Own features end-to-end, from understanding the problem to production release, while applying AI-driven development practices to move faster without compromising quality, and integrating Generative AI capabilities where they add practical value. Experience in the insurance domain is a strong plus and preferred. This will be a hands-on individual contributor role as well as providing technical guidance to junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Feature Ownership
  • Own features end-to-end in a complex product: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Build and maintain backend services in Java and Python and responsive UIs in Angular, working across the stack as the feature demands.
• Workflow & Automation Engineering
  • Design and implement business process workflows using Camunda (BPMN/DMN) and integrate them with backend services and UI components.
  • Build automation and integration flows in n8n, connecting internal services, third-party APIs, and AI components.
• AI-Driven SDLC & Applied GenAI
  • Use AI-assisted development tools across the SDLC: coding, refactoring, test generation, code review, debugging, and documentation.
  • Integrate GenAI features (e.g., summarization, extraction, classification, conversational assistants) into the product using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and RAG patterns.
  • Apply sound practices for validating, testing, and guardrailing AI-generated code and AI-powered features.
• Collaboration & Quality
  • Partner with product managers, QA, and designers to refine requirements and deliver in Agile sprints.
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code; participate actively in design and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors/Masters in CS/IT or equivalent industry experience (5+ years in software development, with exposure to GenAI).
• Technical Mastery
  • Languages: Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Frameworks & Platforms: Spring Boot (or similar Java framework), a Python web framework (FastAPI/Flask/Django), Angular, Camunda (7 or 8), and n8n.
  • Data & Integration: REST APIs, messaging/event-driven patterns, and relational databases (plus NoSQL familiarity).
  • Cloud & DevOps: Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP; CI/CD pipelines; Docker.
• GenAI & AI-Driven SDLC Familiarity
  • Proficient with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and integrating them into a daily development workflow.
  • Working knowledge of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar), prompt engineering, and basic RAG concepts, including embeddings and vector search.

Must-Have Experience

• Full-Stack, Polyglot Development
  • Hands-on delivery across Java, Python, and Angular within a single product.
  • Experience building or integrating Camunda workflows and/or n8n automations.
• High-Impact Projects
  • Owned features end-to-end in a complex, multi-component product, from design to production.
  • Delivered at least one GenAI-enabled feature (e.g., document processing, AI assistant, intelligent automation) to production, or demonstrably applied AI tooling to improve delivery speed and quality.
  • Experience working in Agile teams with CI/CD and automated testing practices.

Preferred Qualifications Additions

• Insurance domain experience (strongly preferred): familiarity with workflows such as underwriting, claims, policy administration, or financial operations; experience in other regulated domains is also valued.
• Familiarity with agentic workflow patterns and orchestrating LLM calls within n8n or Camunda processes.
• Exposure to vector databases and basic LLM evaluation or guardrail techniques.
• Certifications (nice to have):
  • Azure: Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals / Azure Developer Associate.
  • AWS / GCP: Cloud Practitioner or Associate-level developer certification.
  • Camunda: Camunda Certified Developer.
