Oracle seeks an experienced Software Developer to design, build, and maintain cloud-native solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will work on IoT platform data/control planes, applying Java development, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation to ensure reliability.

You will collaborate with engineering, QA, and DevOps to automate deployments, improve performance, and deliver secure software with strong operational practices.

Qualificações

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years in software, including 3+ years in senior developer or technical leadership capacity.
• Proficiency in Java and Python, with strong software design, concurrency, debugging, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Ansible.
• Hands-on cloud platform experience (OCI, AWS, or Azure).
• Ability to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and optimize scalable software components and APIs.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native software solutions within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

In this IC3 individual contributor role, you will work on the Data Plane and Control Plane components of Oracle's IoT platform, combining hands-on software engineering with cloud infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and production troubleshooting.

You will collaborate with engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to improve platform reliability, optimize performance, automate deployments, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

The ideal candidate brings strong Java development experience, hands-on expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, infrastructure automation capabilities, and practical experience operating software in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Platform Development: Design, develop, and enhance software components supporting the Data Plane and Control Plane of Oracle's OCI IoT platform.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Develop, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, availability, and operational stability.
• Infrastructure Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and maintenance using Terraform or Ansible to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.
• Software Engineering and API Development: Develop and optimize Java-based software components and APIs, applying software design principles, concurrency concepts, secure coding practices, and appropriate testing strategies.
• Production Reliability and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve application, infrastructure, networking, and integration issues while improving observability, system performance, and service availability.
• Security and Operational Excellence: Implement cloud security best practices, support vulnerability remediation, and contribute to maintenance, patching, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
• Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration: Partner with development, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver software enhancements, conduct code reviews, resolve defects, and improve engineering standards.
• Technical Ownership and Continuous Improvement: Independently manage assigned engineering deliverables, contribute to architecture-aligned design decisions, mentor colleagues where appropriate, and identify opportunities to improve development and operational processes.

Area Essential Requirements

Education BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience 5+ years of software industry experience, including 3+ years in a senior developer or technical leadership capacity.

Programming Experience in Java and Python, including Java software design principles, concurrency, debugging, and development best practices.

Containers Strong hands-on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment and troubleshooting.

Infrastructure as Code Practical experience automating infrastructure using Terraform or Ansible.

Cloud platforms Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: OCI, AWS, or Azure.

Software engineering Ability to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and optimize scalable software components and APIs.

Production troubleshooting Ability to diagnose and resolve software and infrastructure issues in production environments.

Cloud networking Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including cloud configuration and troubleshooting.

Cloud security Knowledge of cloud security and secure software development practices.

Collaboration Ability to work independently, collaborate across engineering teams, communicate effectively, and adapt to new technologies.

Good-to-Have

• Prior experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience developing and deploying CI/CD pipelines across multi-cluster, multi-region, or multi-architecture environments.
• Experience in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain.
• Exposure to cloud-native platform engineering involving Data Plane and Control Plane components.
