Job Description: Snowflake Administrator / Data Engineer Position Title Snowflake Administrator / Senior Data Engineer Experience 5-7 Years Education Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related discipline Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Snowflake Administrator with strong Data Engineering capabilities to support and enhance enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Snowflake platform administration, security, governance, performance optimization, and operational support while also contributing to data engineering initiatives including data ingestion, ETL/ELT development, pipeline automation, and cloud data platform modernization. This role requires a blend of platform administration and development expertise, making it ideal for professionals who can manage Snowflake environments while also participating in the design and implementation of scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Snowflake Administration Administer and maintain Snowflake environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
• Manage users, roles, privileges, warehouses, databases, schemas, and access controls using RBAC principles.
• Monitor Snowflake performance, resource consumption, query execution, and storage utilization.
• Configure and manage security controls, masking policies, row-level security, network policies, and authentication mechanisms.
• Perform platform monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Implement and maintain Snowflake governance, data retention, Time Travel, Fail-safe, and cloning strategies.
• Support capacity planning, cost optimization, and warehouse sizing activities.
• Manage environment migrations, deployments, and change management processes.
• Support audit, compliance, and data security requirements.
• Data Engineering Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Implement data ingestion frameworks using Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and related Snowflake services.
• Build and optimize data transformation logic using SQL, Python, and cloud-native technologies.
• Develop and support ingestion of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Create reusable data models, views, stored procedures, and metadata-driven frameworks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and application teams for solution delivery.
• Support CI/CD implementation and automation of deployment processes.
• Participate in production support, issue resolution, and operational excellence activities.

Required Technical Skills

• Snowflake Strong experience in Snowflake Administration and Snowflake Data Engineering.
• Expertise in: Snowflake Warehouses Databases & Schemas User & Role Management RBAC Snowpipe Streams & Tasks Dynamic Tables Time Travel & Fail-safe Data Sharing Cloning Performance Tuning Cost Optimization Monitoring & Governance Data Engineering
• Advanced SQL development and optimization skills.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience building enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with structured and semi-structured data formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, XML).
• Cloud Platforms Experience with one or more: AWS S3 IAM Glue Lambda EC2 OR Azure ADLS ADF Azure Functions Databricks DevOps & Automation Git/GitHub/Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure automation concepts Agile delivery methodologies

Preferred Skills

• SnowPro Core Certification.
• Experience with Databricks and PySpark.
• Experience with AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled data platforms.
• Experience supporting Life Sciences, Healthcare, Banking, Retail, or Manufacturing domains.
• Exposure to Cortex AI or Snowflake AI capabilities.
