Role Highlights

• Proactively ensures security, reliability, scalability, and performance of on-premise and cloud hosted applications.
• Implements monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to maintain service health.
• Automates deployment and recovery processes to reduce manual intervention.
• Conducts post‑incident reviews and drives root cause analysis and remediation.

Key Skills and Experience

• Strong experience supporting live production services, including:

• Incident triage and resolution
• Root cause analysis for recurring issues
• Contribution to problem records and preventative actions
• Security and vulnerability management

• Experience working within formal change control processes.
• Strong understanding of service reliability concepts, including availability, performance, resilience, degradation, and recovery.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving application‑level incidents, including code, configuration, and dependency issues.
• Comfortable working across legacy and modern applications with varying levels of observability and automation.

Microsoft Application Stack Experience

• .NET (legacy .NET Framework and modern .NET)
• IIS‑hosted applications
• Web APIs and web applications
• Strong experience with SQL Server‑based applications, including performance and availability considerations.
• Familiarity with legacy technologies and older frameworks, and the operational challenges they introduce.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and key DevOps tools and technologies such as Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and orchestration, networking, observability and security.
