Oracle is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (IC3) in India to own essential database infrastructure and cloud platform services. You will deploy, operate, and continuously improve Oracle Autonomous AI Database cloud offerings, focusing on reliability, performance, and automation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design architecture, implement provisioning and release engineering, and ensure production resilience across Linux-based environments.

Responsabilidades

• Production Reliability & Operations: Own implementation, maintenance, and operational support of critical database infrastructure and cloud platform services.
• Complex Incident Resolution: Diagnose and resolve hardware, OS, and database issues; restore service functionality; perform root cause analysis; preventive improvements.
• Database Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Oracle Engineered Systems and Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN).
• Automation & Self-healing: Develop Python and shell-based automation to reduce repetitive tasks and improve recovery.
• Performance & Capacity Management: Monitor health, identify bottlenecks, assist capacity planning, optimize performance.
• Platform Engineering & Deployment: Contribute to architecture, provisioning, deployment, release engineering, and support of database cloud services.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with distributed teams to prototype and enhance services and improve processes.
• Security & Operational Excellence: Apply security and network practices while improving monitoring and resilience.

Job Description

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (IC3) to help build, deploy, operate, and continuously improve Oracle Autonomous AI Database cloud services.

In this role, you will own critical infrastructure and production operations, troubleshoot complex database and system issues, and implement automation to improve service reliability and operational efficiency.

You will work with cross-functional engineering teams on database platform architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, performance optimization, capacity planning, and release engineering.

The role is suited to an engineer who combines hands-on Oracle Database and Engineered Systems expertise with strong Linux administration, troubleshooting, and scripting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Reliability & Operations: Own implementation, maintenance, and operational support of critical database infrastructure and cloud platform services.
• Complex Incident Resolution: Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, and database issues; restore service functionality; perform root cause analysis; and implement preventive improvements.
• Database Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Oracle Engineered Systems and Oracle Database technologies, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN.
• Automation & Self-healing: Develop Python and shell-based automation to reduce repetitive operational work, prevent recurring incidents, and improve service recovery.
• Performance & Capacity Management: Monitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, support capacity planning, and optimize database and infrastructure performance.
• Platform Engineering & Deployment: Contribute to architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, release engineering, and ongoing support of database cloud services.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with distributed engineering teams to prototype and enhance database platform services, investigate production issues, and improve operational processes.
• Security & Operational Excellence: Apply relevant security and network infrastructure practices while continuously improving monitoring, configuration management, and production resilience.

Qualifications & Skills Mandatory

Capability Expected proficiency

Oracle Engineered Systems Hands-on experience deploying, optimizing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle Engineered Systems and related subsystems.

Oracle Database technologies Strong practical knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and database performance tuning.

Linux administration Operational experience administering and troubleshooting Linux environments such as Oracle Linux (OEL) or RHEL.

Production troubleshooting Ability to diagnose complex hardware/software issues, restore service functionality, perform root cause analysis, and prevent recurrence.

Automation & scripting Practical experience using Python and shell scripting to automate operational activities and improve efficiency.

Reliability engineering Experience supporting production systems with an emphasis on availability, monitoring, performance, and operational stability.

Communication & problem-solving Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Good-to-Have

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools used for infrastructure and system operations.
• Working knowledge of security practices for web application delivery and network infrastructure concepts.
• Experience contributing to database cloud service architecture, provisioning, and release engineering.
• Experience designing or implementing automated recovery, self-healing, or event-driven operational workflows.
• BE, BS, or MS degree, as referenced under Preferred Qualifications in the original JD.
