Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Truecaller – Bangalore, India

Truecaller is a global communication platform committed to protecting users from fraud, harassment, and unwanted messages. As part of our Infrastructure team, we build reliable, scalable, and secure services across GCP, Kubernetes, and monitoring observability stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and maintain end‑to‑end infrastructure services throughout their lifecycle.
• Build and improve performance, reliability, availability, and security of Truecaller’s infrastructure.
• Deploy, scale, and monitor Kubernetes clusters, instrumenting and alarming systems.
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with application teams on capacity planning, observability, and monitoring best practices.
• Drive tooling and automation to ease provisioning and scaling of resources.

Qualifications

• Strong system administration experience on Linux in high throughput, low latency environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with GCP services (or transferable AWS/Azure skills) – networking, IAM, compute, storage, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS/AKS).
• Deep knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes – deploying, scaling, monitoring clusters.
• Excellent understanding of distributed system design across process and site boundaries.
• Hands‑on experience with service orchestration, configuration management, and automation.
• Experience with monitoring & observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, Datadog, New Relic.
• Incident management experience – responding to incidents, root‑cause analysis, and reliability improvement.
• Knowledge of cloud security, secrets management, and compliance basics.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and continuous delivery practices.

Preferred

• Docker/Kubernetes operator development.
• Experience scaling Apache Cassandra, ScyllaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis or Memcached.
• Go programming language experience or willingness to learn Go.
