Job description

We are currently looking for a Senior Security Research Engineer in India. In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening the security of a large-scale web ecosystem by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across applications and infrastructure. You will investigate malicious code, track emerging threats, and contribute to the development of tools and processes that enhance detection and response capabilities. Working at the intersection of research and engineering, you will help secure platforms used by millions of websites worldwide. This position combines deep technical investigation with hands‑on software engineering and close collaboration with product and development teams. You will also contribute to improving security practices across the broader ecosystem, ensuring faster detection and remediation of risks. This is a high‑impact role where your research directly improves the safety and resilience of widely used digital infrastructure.

Accountabilities

• Research, analyze, and investigate vulnerabilities, malware, and malicious patterns across web applications and systems
• Identify common attack vectors such as injection flaws, XSS, hijacking, and social engineering, and define mitigation strategies
• Contribute to the design and improvement of security tools, detection systems, and remediation workflows
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review code, architecture, and security design decisions
• Develop and enhance internal tooling for vulnerability detection and threat intelligence
• Support security incident analysis and assist in improving response and remediation processes
• Document findings, threat models, and security recommendations in a clear and actionable way
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, improve analysis quality, and enhance detection workflows

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a security researcher, security engineer, or in a similar role focused on vulnerability analysis or malware investigation
• Strong understanding of security concepts, threat modeling, and common web attack vectors and mitigation techniques
• Experience working with PHP and familiarity with software engineering principles
• Exposure to WordPress or similar web application ecosystems is highly valuable
• Ability to analyze complex systems and identify security risks across code, infrastructure, and data flows
• Experience collaborating in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools and methodologies is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document and explain technical security findings clearly
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across engineering and research teams
• Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity, analysis, and research workflows
