Job summary

McKinsey & Company is seeking a Senior Security Operations professional in Bengaluru to defend enterprise and multi-cloud environments, protect critical assets, and maintain business continuity. You will rapidly investigate, contain, and eradicate high-impact incidents, while improving detection and response through automation and playbook enhancements.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in security operations, SOC work, and experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Security Operations, Cyber Defense, Incident Response, or Threat Detection.
• Experience working within a SOC or Cyber Defense team, handling security monitoring and incident response activities.
• Strong understanding of security monitoring, incident detection, investigation, and response across enterprise and multi-cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience investigating security events across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with familiarity with cloud-native security services and logging.
• Solid understanding of Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK, TTPs, and incident response methodologies.

Your Impact

You will be a critical line of defense in protecting our organization’s most valuable assets, data, and reputation.
Your expertise will directly influence our ability to maintain business continuity and trust in an increasingly complex threat landscape. You will directly defend our complex enterprise and multi-cloud environments, ensuring the security of critical business operations, sensitive data, and intellectual property against sophisticated cyber adversaries.
By rapidly investigating, containing, and eradicating high-impact security incidents, you will significantly reduce potential downtime and mitigate financial or reputational damage during critical events. Your proactive threat hunting and continuous tuning of detection mechanisms will transform our SOC from reactive to proactive, ensuring we stay ahead of emerging attack vectors and zero‑day threats. You will act as a force multiplier for the entire Security Operations Center.
By developing intelligent automation workflows and refining playbooks, you will streamline response times, reduce alert fatigue, and empower the broader team to work more efficiently. You will translate the technical insights gained from incident root‑cause analysis into actionable improvements, strengthening our overall security architecture and long‑term incident response strategies.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in Security Operations, Cyber Defense, Incident Response, or Threat Detection
• Experience working within a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Cyber Defense team, handling security monitoring and incident response activities
• Strong understanding of security monitoring, incident detection, investigation, and response across enterprise and multi-cloud environments
• Hands‑on experience investigating security events across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with familiarity with cloud‑native security services and logging
• Solid understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain®, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, modern threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and incident response methodologies
