Job summary

Apple in India is seeking a highly skilled automation engineer to build and maintain internal applications, automation frameworks, tools and end-to-end functional tests. You will work closely with Automation and QA Engineers to develop robust solutions that improve productivity and ship releases with high quality.

Daily collaboration with business teams and cross-functional partners will drive tool creation to extend coverage.

Qualifications

• Strong automation scripting with Playwright and Python.
• Advanced Python programming skills.
• Experience creating test automation for RESTful APIs.
• Performance testing experience with JMeter or Locust; understand KPIs.
• Familiarity with TestNG, Pytest and BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Gauge.
• Knowledge of test methodologies (integration, performance, functional).
• Git proficiency; experience with CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Unix/Linux environment experience; software design proficiency.
• Capability to create and implement AI-augmented testing strategies.

This position requires a motivated, highly technical engineer to create, maintain, and expand internal applications, automation frameworks, tools and end-to-end functional tests. The successful engineer will work closely with Automation and QA Engineers to develop robust solutions that will improve productivity and ship releases with high quality. Daily discussions with business teams and cross-functional partners will drive the genesis of the latest tools and applications you will create to enhance the coverage and stability of our applications. Innovative solutions and strategies that allow the team to expand the coverage of the features we ultimately deliver to our customers are a must.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong experience writing automation scripts using Playwright - Python
• Advanced experience in Python programming
• Strong experience in developing test automation for RESTful API Services
• Experience with Performance testing using Jmeter/Locust plus understanding of metrics and key performance indicators
• Advanced Experience in developing and working with test automation frameworks TestNG , Pytest , BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Gauge
• Excellent knowledge and experience with test methodologies (Integration testing, Performance testing, Functional testing, etc).
• Experience with Git and codebase management.
• Proficient Experience with CI/CD Technologies, preferably Jenkins
• Experience working in Unix/Linux Environments
• Proficient in Software design and technologies
• Advanced experience in creating testing and test automation strategies
• Hands on experience with AI-augmented or autonomous testing tools to accelerate test design, authoring, and maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI to build tools that measurably improve efficiency and coverage across functional and automated testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing automation scripts using Selenium - Java
• Knowledge in understanding the Security principles
• Experience applying a quality engineering mindset to improve coverage, reliability, and confidence in large-scale applications.
• An enthusiasm for user-focused design & high-quality products.
• Partner with global teams, development managers, and other teams to organize testing responsibilities, and to drive strategic initiatives.
• Proficient knowledge on risk management in QA
• Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and collaboratively.
• Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results.
• Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other teams within Apple
