Job summary

Syngene International Ltd. in Bangalore, India, invites a Senior Scientist to join the Biopharmaceutics (BPH) department. The role focuses on pre-formulation and phase-appropriate formulation development to support pre-clinical and clinical studies.

You will assess physicochemical properties, operate analytical tools, and collaborate across PK/PD, toxicology, and analytical R&D groups to advance drug candidates toward clinical development.

Qualifications

• M. Pharm or M.S. in Pharmaceutics/ Pharmaceutical chemistry with 0 – 2 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Physicochemical properties assessment through pre-formulation studies for new chemical entities (NCEs).
• Handling and good knowledge on various analytical tools/instruments used in drug discovery and formulation development work to understand physicochemical properties of NCEs.
• Good knowledge/understanding on solid state characterization of drug substances.
• Formulation development and feasibility studies to support pre-clinical PK, PD and toxicology studies.
• Assist in oral drug product development to support clinical studies, including oral solution, suspension, tablet and capsule dosage forms.
• Record, summarize and present experimental data/results and assist in drafting relevant scientific/technical reports.
• Good working knowledge on MS Office and basic scientific software/tools used in drug discovery and formulation development workspace.

Job Purpose: To conduct and assist in pre-formulation and phase-appropriate formulation development activities to support pre-clinical and clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities

Educational Qualifications & Experience

M. Pharm or M.S. in Pharmaceutics/ Pharmaceutical chemistry with 0 – 2 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
