Job summary

Veeva Systems is hiring a Release Engineer for Hyderabad to join a fast-growing team building cloud-based applications for life sciences. You will work closely with Vault Engineering and Technical Operations to streamline deployment, release management, and quality assurance across sprints.

The role requires strong Linux and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ruby), experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, and AWS, and a solid grasp of Agile/DevOps in large, complex environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Linux and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby) and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with AWS and source control like Git; familiarity with Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies; release engineering for large apps.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage risks to release scope and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Vault Engineering and Technical Operations to support releases.
• Execute and manage deployment activities for each sprint.
• Manage risks and resolve issues affecting release scope, schedule, quality.
• Partner with Development and QA to design and execute robust test and release processes.
• Identify and implement release-process improvements to maximize efficiency.
• Facilitate deployment problem resolution with Development, QA, and TechOps.

The Role

Veeva Systems is looking for a Release Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, motivated, and efficient.

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with Vault Engineering and Technical Operations to support the existing release and change management process
• Execute and manage deployment activities for each sprint
• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
• Collaborate with key Development and Quality Assurance stakeholders in developing and executing a robust test and release process
• Facilitate resolution of deployment problems with Development, Quality Assurance and Technical Operations
• Proactively identify, recommend, and implement software release process improvements to maximize efficiency

Requirements

• Familiarity with Linux, scripting language (eg Python, bash, ruby), CI/CD.
• Experience with AWS
• Proficient with CI tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with source code version control systems such as Git
• Solid understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Experience in release engineering for an organization with large and complex applications
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with other Engineering and Technical Operations teams
• Flexibility and adaptability towards changes in assignments and work schedules
• Pride in work through attention to detail
• Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment
• Computer Science or related bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
