Job summary

Ecolibrium seeks a QA Engineer who owns end-to-end quality, partnering with engineering and product teams to define test strategy, build automation, and ensure reliability across UI, API, database, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA, SDET or Quality Engineering with automation focus.

Job description

We are looking for a QA Engineer who owns product quality end-to-end. This is not a traditional test-execution role: you will work closely with engineering and product teams to understand requirements, identify risks, design the right test strategy, build automation and continuously improve the reliability of what we ship, working across application, API, database, distributed-system and infrastructure layers.

The QA Engineer will use Claude Code, Cursor and other AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate test design, automation and investigation, while owning the quality decision. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong hands-on automation experience, systematic risk-based thinking and the ability to work independently with ambiguous requirements, and requires 5+ years of relevant experience.

THE WORK

Key Responsibilities

• Own quality end-to-end, from requirement analysis and test strategy through automation, CI/CD and release to production.
• Analyse problem statements to derive functional, integration, negative and edge-case scenarios.
• Design scalable automation frameworks and maintain high-quality automated regression suites across UI, API and end-to-end layers.
• Validate APIs, databases, asynchronous workflows and distributed system behaviour.
• Identify failure modes, race conditions, data issues and reliability risks before they reach production.
• Work with developers to improve testability, observability and overall engineering quality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and provide fast, actionable feedback.
• Investigate failures using logs, traces, metrics and application behaviour, and own release quality by communicating risk clearly.
• Test LLM-powered applications, RAG retrieval quality, tool/function calls and Agentic AI workflows, including agent state, multi-step execution and failure recovery.
• Design repeatable evaluation approaches for AI system quality and identify regressions in model behaviour, prompts and retrieval.
• Continuously improve coverage, execution speed, reliability and maintainability of the test suite.
• Use Claude Code, Cursor and AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate test-case discovery, automation, edge-case identification and failure analysis.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in QA, SDET or Quality Engineering, with strong hands-on automation experience.
• Strong programming ability in Python, Java or TypeScript.
• Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks, including modern UI automation such as Playwright or equivalent.
• Strong API and backend testing experience, including REST/GraphQL and database/SQL validation.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud-based environments, with hands-on Docker and practical Kubernetes experience.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills, with experience testing distributed systems and asynchronous workflows.
• Exposure to LLM, Generative AI or Agentic AI testing.
• Experience with Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with Kafka, MQTT or other event-driven systems.
• Performance engineering and distributed-load testing experience.
• Experience with contract testing and service virtualisation.
• Experience building quality frameworks from 0 to 1.
• Experience testing AI/ML products or data-intensive systems, or working in high-velocity product/startup environments.
