Job summary

Ferguson India seeks a Senior Quality Engineer – Boundary Application to join the Enterprise Solutions team within the Ferguson IT organization. The role involves testing small to large software enhancements with focus on QA and data validation.

The candidate should have hands-on manual/functional testing experience, some automation with Selenium, Java, Python, and Playwright, and strong collaboration across teams. University degree required; Indian market parity applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or related field.
• Experience with Atlassian/Confluence, JIRA, qTest / ALM.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proficient knowledge of STLC and testing concepts (functionality, usability, performance).
• Basic understanding of SQL.
• Experience using Postman.
• Experience in testing Web Applications.
• Experience testing Finance Related Applications.
• UniData/Mainframe is a plus.
• Python experience is a plus.
• Pricing applications testing is a plus.
• Testing integrations is a plus.
• Performance testing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Overall 3+ years of QA Functional testing.
• Manual / Functional testing expert.
• Hands-on automation testing using Selenium with Java, Python, Playwright, etc., with BDD (Cucumber).
• Write test plans, create and execute test scripts, report defects clearly.
• Peer-review test scripts for Functional, Smoke, Regression, and System testing.
• Organize and monitor defect management processes.
• Attend status calls to report testing progress.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in standard methodologies.
• Collaborate with onshore teams to communicate timelines and progress.

We have a superb opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer – Boundary Application to join the Enterprise Solutions team, within the Ferguson IT organization. This position will involve testing small to large-sized software enhancements. The ideal candidate will have experience with testing application software, have the technical ability to validate data updates to the database, along with strong social skills to connect with both technical and non-technical associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall 3+ years of QA Functional testing. Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and standard processes.
• Must have extensive Manual / Functional testing experience.
• Some hands-on experience in Automation testing using Selenium with Java, Python, Playwright, etc., with a focus on Business-Driven Development (i.e., Cucumber).
• Able to write test plans, create and execute test scripts, and report defects, clearly, for Functional Testing.
• Involved in peer-review of test scripts for Functional, Smoke, Regression, and System testing.
• Organizing and monitoring defect management processes.
• Attend status calls as needed to report on testing progress.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced quality assurance engineers in standard methodologies for quality.
• Collaborate closely with onshore team member(s) to communicate timelines, progress, and the work you'll be doing on the project.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related
• Experience with Project & Quality Management tools such as Atlassian/Confluence, JIRA, qTest / ALM.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proficient knowledge of the STLC, various testing concepts (e.g. functionality, usability, performance) and methodologies for ensuring software quality.
• Basic understanding of SQL.
• Experience using postman.
• Good teammate, go-getter demeanor, and able to work independently in a faced-paced environment
