Qualifications

Senior Python Automation Engineer – Cloud (SDET)

Experience: 7+ Years | Department: Cloud Quality Engineering

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud SDET / Senior Quality Engineer with 7+ years of experience in test automation, framework development, API validation, and microservices quality engineering. This role requires deep working knowledge of distributed microservices architectures across multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP), hands‑on expertise with key cloud infrastructure components, and the ability to build and scale Python-based automation frameworks across Cloud/Backend APIs, Web, and Mobile platforms, embedded into modern CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Front Automation & Framework Development

• Architect, maintain, and expand scalable Python-based test automation frameworks across Cloud/Backend APIs, Web, and Mobile endpoints
• Design reusable core components, utility libraries, and assertions for multi-platform test execution and automated reporting
• Implement continuous automation runs integrated directly into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE/EKS)

API, Microservices & Multi-Cloud Quality Engineering

• Validate microservices architecture, endpoint interactions, service-to-service communications, RESTful APIs, and cloud messaging queues across AWS and GCP
• Conduct end-to-end API automation validating data payloads, HTTP status codes, schema compliance, and performance SLAs
• Interact directly with cloud components (storage/S3, Redis caching, Pub/Sub, Kafka, compute, identity, container registries) to verify resiliency, gateway routing, and fault isolation
• Implement contract testing and mock services to ensure seamless inter-service communication across distributed cloud microservices

Observability & Domain Execution

• Leverage cloud platforms and observability tools (e.g. Grafana) for monitoring execution logs, tracking failures, and conducting root-cause analysis
• Validate cloud-connected devices, telemetry endpoints, or messaging interfaces within IoT domain workflows where applicable

Required Qualifications

Must-Have

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Engineering and Test Automation
• Strong proficiency in Python for writing clean, reusable, and maintainable automation test suites
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and working experience with multi-cloud platforms (AWS and GCP), including key cloud components (GKE/EKS, storage/buckets, Redis, Pub/Sub, Kafka, IAM)
• Proven hands-on experience across multiple automation fronts — Cloud/Backend APIs, Web, and Mobile automation frameworks
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and scaling custom test automation frameworks from scratch (Pytest/Nosetest)
• Core experience in automated API testing (REST/GraphQL), endpoint validation, service-to-service communication, and contract testing
• Deep hands-on experience embedding automated sanity, smoke, and regression suites into build pipelines, including automated quality gates

Good to Have

• Knowledge or hands-on exposure to testing IoT ecosystems and cloud-connected hardware platforms
• Exposure to load testing frameworks (Gatling/Scala) and observability tools (Grafana)
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Gemini)

Candidate Profile

A senior, hands-on SDET who can independently architect and scale Python-based automation frameworks across multiple platforms, while holding deep technical fluency in multi-cloud microservices and infrastructure. Someone who treats quality engineering as a first-class engineering discipline - comfortable owning CI/CD quality gates, debugging distributed systems, and driving automation strategy with minimal oversight.
