Job summary

TVS Next is seeking an experienced Python backend engineer in Chennai to design, develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Django and DRF. You will build robust APIs for enterprise and IoT applications, manage MQTT communications, and implement event-driven architectures with Kafka.

The role requires working with Redis, Snowflake, and relational databases, collaborating across teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Strong Django and Django REST Framework expertise.
• Proficient Python programming and OO design.
• Hands-on with scalable APIs and enterprise-grade applications.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server.
• Experience with MQTT IoT device communication.
• Experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming.
• Caching with Redis and distributed task processing.
• Experience with Snowflake for large-scale data storage.
• Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD, and Agile SDLC.

• Contribute to AI-powered automation initiatives by working with AI Agent frameworks and intelligent orchestration platforms.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security across distributed environments.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, deployment activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• 5+ years of experience in Python software development and backend engineering.
• Strong expertise in Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).

• Strong experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
