Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software engineering with Python and FastAPI or Django.
• Experience deploying LLM integrations, embeddings, prompt orchestration, and vector search in production.
• Deep understanding of relational database design, indexing, and pooling in PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with Docker, Linux, and cloud infra (AWS or GCP).
• Familiarity with asyncio, message brokers, and caching strategies.
• Strong problem-solving, algorithmic thinking, and clean code hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade backend APIs and microservices with Python and FastAPI.
• Architect robust RAG systems, embeddings, and semantic search interfaces using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases.
• Optimize asynchronous handling, distributed queues (Celery, Redis), and PostgreSQL query performance.
• Implement security, API authentication (OAuth2, JWT), rate limiting, and data encryption at rest and in transit.
• Containerize apps with Docker and set up CI/CD for AWS, Google Cloud Run, and Kubernetes.

Job description

As a Senior Python & AI Backend Engineer at Scientific Webs, you will lead the design and execution of intelligent backend systems. You will build high-throughput microservices using FastAPI, develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, connect proprietary enterprise data to LLMs via vector databases, and deploy containerized services with zero-downtime scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade backend APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI.
• Architect robust RAG systems, embedding pipelines, and semantic search interfaces using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, pgvector).
• Optimize asynchronous request handling, distributed task queues (Celery, Redis), and database query performance in PostgreSQL.
• Implement enterprise-grade security, API authentication (OAuth2, JWT), rate limiting, and data encryption at rest and in transit.
• Containerize applications using Docker and set up automated CI/CD pipelines targeting AWS, Google Cloud Run, and Kubernetes.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor backend team members, and enforce strict type hints, documentation, and automated test coverage (PyTest).

Requirements
