Job summary

Central Square Foundation is seeking a Senior/Project Coordinator for the District Project Management Unit (DPMU) in Odisha. Based in Keonjhar or Nabarangpur, you will drive field implementation, data systems, and governance to strengthen foundational learning for grades 1–3.

You will collaborate with district administration, conduct school visits, support capacity building, and ensure timely data submission while engaging with government stakeholders to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines from a reputed institution.
• 1 to 6 years of relevant work experience in education, development, public sector, or field programming.
• Experience with government stakeholders at state or district levels is preferred.
• Strong project management and organisational skills with data-driven mindset.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, resourcefulness and a can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and Odia language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Field Implementation & School Support and conduct school visits with focus on classroom practices.
• Data Collection & Insights: ensure timely data submission using the tech platform.
• Track and analyze schools quarterly to identify instructional gaps; support district reviews.
• Coordinate with District Leads for monthly district/block reviews and track actions.
• Build capacity through workshops and government engagement.
• Support 1:1 visits with government officials and monitor learning outcomes.
• Identify lagging students monthly and share lists with government officials.
• Monitor NIPUN Vidyalaya with CRCC/BEOs and share case studies in teacher forums.

About The Position

The Senior/Project Coordinator will play a key role in collaborating closely with district administration to ensure implementation fidelity of the NIPUN Odisha mission in the district, with a focus on strong governance, data systems, teacher support and capacity building. Project Coordinators will drive the last-mile operations of the FLN mission at the district. This is a high-ownership, field-intensive role focused on improving classroom practices and enabling data-driven academic support and governance systems at block and cluster levels. Project Coordinators will focus on building mission salience, set short- and mid-term goals, strengthen capacity for data-driven decision-making, and undertake micro-innovations that improve student learning outcomes for grades 1-3. The role offers an opportunity to build system capacity, improve the mechanics of education delivery, and ensure effective implementation of foundational learning through strategic, system-level engagement.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Field Implementation & School Support

• Conduct school visits/month focused on classroom observation and teacher practices (2 weeks of field travel)
• Data Collection & Insights

• Ensure 100% data submission within the specified time using the tech platform
• Track and analyse a set number of schools per quarter to identify instructional gaps
• Review & Coordination

• Support District Leads in facilitating monthly district and block-level reviews
• Track review meeting actions and ensure closure for the assigned blocks
• Capacity Building Support
• Support in organising workshops and enabling effective engagement of attendees
• Support 1:1 visits with government officials
• Student Outcomes Tracking & Support Learning Strategy

• Ensure identification of students lagging every month, and share lists with government officials
• Ensure effective implementation of learning improvement strategies, track progress, and integrate into reviews
• NIPUN Vidyalaya Schools

• Monitor NIPUN Vidyalaya with CRCC/BEOs
• Documentation of case studies/month and support the District Lead in sharing these in teacher forums

Required Qualifications, Skills And Abilities

• A Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines from a reputed institution
• 1 to 6 years of relevant work experience, especially in education, development, the public sector, or field program implementation
• Prior experience working with government stakeholders at state or district levels and familiarity with social development reform program is preferred.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, and an analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from data
• Entrepreneurial mindset, resourcefulness, and a can-do attitude
• Optimistic and enthusiastic, believing in achieving transformational change, and proactive in driving results in complex environments
• Excellent communication skills and spoken and written proficiency in Odia are required

Location

• Based in either of the following districts: Keonjhar or Nabarangpur.
• Requires significant travel to the field (~2 weeks/month).
• There may be some travel to the state office in Bhubneshwar and the central office in Delhi.

Compensation

Remuneration will be competitive and depend on the candidate's experience.

This is a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) contract position for a minimum of 2 years.
