Jhpiego in Jaipur (Rajasthan) is seeking a Senior Program Officer to strengthen reproductive and child health programs at the state level. You will work closely with the Senior Program Officer, Rajasthan, to implement MNCH interventions, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with district stakeholders to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

You will help develop and implement SOPs, support capacity building, and contribute to data-driven decision making, including dashboard

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Medical or Nursing education in India. PG/Diploma preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in public health programs, especially MNCH or nursing-led initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Indian health system, government policies advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of priority MNCH interventions through coordination with the Senior Program Officer.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with state and district stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance in design, planning, and execution of interventions, including digital health platforms.
  • Support capacity-building activities and implementation of MNCH interventions (anemia, GDM, HDP, obstetric emergencies, SNCU).
  • Assist in development, SOPs, protocols, job aids, and quality improvement standards.
  • Collaborate with data teams to track quality indicators and prepare program reports.

Jhpiego is hiring a Senior Program officer based at Jaipur (Rajasthan) to support the State/Senior Program Officer for strengthening the Reproductive and Child Health programmes to technically assist the state for achieving SDG targets.

Responsibilities
  • Program Implementation
  • Work closely with the Senior Program Officer, Rajasthan, to support implementation of priority MNCH interventions through effective stakeholder coordination and provision of clinical and programmatic guidance aligned with state priorities and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders at the state and district levels.
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, planning, and execution of interventions including support in development, strengthening, and integration of digital health platforms to ensure achievement of intended maternal and child Health outcomes.
  • Technical Assistance and Quality Improvement
  • Provide technical support for planning and implementation of capacity‑building initiatives and priority MNCH interventions including anemia (FCM), GDM, HDP, obstetric emergencies, FRU strengthening, newborn survival (SNCU) and maternal death review/analysis.
  • Support development, adaptation, and implementation of clinical SOPs, protocols, job aids, and quality improvement standards.
  • Support systematic analysis of state/program activities and key deliverables along with identification of key gaps, contributing factors, and actionable recommendations to strengthen quality of care.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to support documentation of achievements, best practices, innovations, challenges and lessons learned for internal and external dissemination.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
  • Foster effective collaboration and alignment with relevant stakeholders to support state-level priorities and implementation of MNCH interventions.
  • Maintain regular coordination with district teams to facilitate smooth execution, monitoring and follow up of MNCH interventions.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
  • Collaborate with data team to track and monitor quality indicators and deliverables related to MNCH services.
  • Support development and use of dashboards and review tools to assess progress and identify areas for course correction.
  • Contribute to preparation of program reports, review presentations and technical updates.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide programmatic and technical support to the supervisor as required and undertake additional responsibilities aligned with program goals and organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate level qualification in Medical and Nursing education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Public Health/Health Management will be preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience of working with public health programs especially in Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health or nursing‑led public health programs.
  • Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National Health Mission would be advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of clinical MNCH standards, quality of care, and public health systems.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in working in Reproductive Health and Child Health programs, counterparts and systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly and deliver high-quality outputs within challenging timelines, including responding effectively to urgent and time-sensitive requirements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.
  • Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel extensively up to 50-60% of his/her time.
