Job description

LeftLane Software is a modern cloud dealership management system (DMS) and payment platform for independent auto dealers — including cash, outside-finance, and in-house / specialty-finance operations. The platform spans inventory, deals and desking, compliance contracting, loan servicing and collections, embedded payments, accounting and reporting, titles, and multi-location operations, with a strong focus on easy migration from legacy systems.

LeftLane competes with legacy independent-dealer platforms such as Frazer, DealerCenter, Wayne Reaves, AutoAction, and DealerSocket IDMS. The company is investing in brand, website, and go-to-market as it scales nationally beyond a historically Texas-weighted public presence.

The Opportunity

About LeftLane Software

We are hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager to own how LeftLane shows up in the market: brand recognition, storytelling, demand generation, competitive positioning, sales enablement, and the narrative behind a website rebrand. This is a high-agency role that partners directly with leadership. The website is currently too basic and too narrow; a design firm is already engaged for rebranding. The PMM will own the market story that design and sales execute against.

Mission

Make independent auto dealers recognize LeftLane, understand the full platform (not a thin website story), want a demo, and choose LeftLane over legacy and peer DMS competitors — then arm sales to win and expand.

What You OwnInterest, demand, brand & storytelling

  • Build awareness among dealers and industry influencers so LeftLane is known before first outreach.

  • Create qualified demand (demos and pipeline), not vanity traffic.

  • Improve brand recognition and reputation in the dealer-software category.

  • Own company, product, competitive, and customer storytelling end to end.

Positioning & category

  • Position LeftLane as a modern cloud DMS + embedded payments + specialty-finance servicing platform for independents — not a single-feature or single-state tool.

  • Keep messaging national, capability-true, and consistent across website, sales, content, and partners.

Competitive intelligence

  • Maintain a living competitive map vs Frazer, DealerCenter, AutoAction, Wayne Reaves, DealerSocket IDMS, and adjacent payment/collections tools.

  • Produce battle cards, takeout plays, win/loss insights, and objection handling sales trusts.

Messaging, content & digital presence

  • Build the full messaging system: elevator, website information architecture, outbound hooks, demo narrative, migration reassurance, and TCO / pricing talk tracks.

  • Partner with the engaged design firm on website rebrand: narrative, structure, proof, and conversion paths — not just visuals.

  • Run a content engine dealers actually use (operations, servicing, compliance, switching DMS, portfolio economics).

  • Own SEO / AEO and landing experiences that convert interest into demos.

Sales enablement & launches

  • Enable AEs and SDRs with discovery guides, competitive takeouts, ROI math, proof packs, and proposal language.

  • Package product capabilities and launches for market: naming, audience, proof, and field readiness.

  • Help leadership frame packaging and value narrative vs competitors’ modular pricing.

Proof, channels & insight

  • Build case studies, ROI proof, migration stories, and reference programs that make switching feel safer than staying.

  • Activate associations, events, lenders, auctions, compliance firms, and other ecosystem partners for co-marketing and presence.

  • Run the market insight loop: dealer interviews, intent signals, competitor moves — feed product and leadership.

  • Define what “qualified demand” means for this market; measure programs to pipeline; scale what works and kill what does not.

How You Operate

  • High agency with leadership: propose weekly GTM bets; do not wait for a perfect brief.

  • Evidence over opinion: dealer quotes, time-saved math, migration stories, competitive reality.

  • Creative within channels dealers actually use — industry networks, events, partners, and practical content — not only generic B2B SaaS channels.

  • Comfortable owning both strategy and shipping: write, brief design, run programs, measure, rewrite.

Success Looks Like

  • Unprompted brand recognition among target dealers and influencers.

  • Website and story match platform reality: national, full-stack, clear path to demo.

  • Steady qualified demos from multiple motions (outbound is not the only lever).

  • Higher win rates and shorter sales cycles on competitive displacements.

  • A living competitive map and a quarterly GTM bet list leadership trusts.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years in B2B product marketing, preferably vertical SaaS (auto retail, fintech, payments, or other “replace the legacy system” categories).

  • Proven ownership of positioning, demand programs, sales enablement, and brand narrative — not only content production.

  • Comfortable in competitive displacement markets and complex buyer journeys (owner / GM / office / collections stakeholders).

  • Strong writer and storyteller who can also operationalize GTM (launches, campaigns, measurement).

  • Experience partnering with design agencies on website or brand work is a plus.

  • High agency, low ego; thrives reporting to leadership in a growing company.

  • Auto, DMS, BHPH / specialty finance, or dealer-tech experience is a strong plus but not required if the candidate can ramp fast on a vertical market.

What We Offer

  • Direct partnership with leadership on a category-defining GTM build.

  • Real ownership: brand, demand, story, and competitive strategy — not a narrow support seat.

  • Immediate leverage: website rebrand already in motion; PMM shapes the market narrative behind it.

  • Competitive compensation (details provided in process).
