Job summary

Rakuten Symphony is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the data platforms roadmap, including the CDP, coordinating adoption across Rakuten BUs and external clients.

You will translate business goals into technical requirements, work closely with data scientists and engineers, and shape scalable data pipelines for AI/ML workloads.

Qualifications

About the Job:

Rakuten Mobile is at the forefront of data-driven innovation. Having successfully implemented robust data platforms and AI orchestration layer, we are now entering a phase of rapid expansion. We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Manager to act as a bridge between high-level business strategy and technical execution.

In this role, you will own the product roadmap for our data platforms (including CDP), driving adoption across Rakuten BUs, external clients, while continuously enhancing the platform’s capabilities to fuel next-generation AI/ML initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Product Ownership: Lead the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and delivery lifecycle for data platforms (CDP).
• Strategic Collaboration: Act as the primary technical partner to business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for data-driven growth.
• Technical Literacy: Convert complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical user stories and sprint tasks for engineering teams.
• Platform Architecture: Oversee the development of scalable data pipelines and curated datasets, ensuring they are optimized for high-performance AI/ML consumption.
• Data Governance & Quality: Champion the creation of well-modeled, discoverable, and reliable data assets that support specific, high-impact business use cases.

Required Qualifications:

Education: B.Tech, M.Tech/MS (optional)

Experience:

7+ years of experience in Product Management and Data Engineering

Technical Proficiency:

• Experience in managing platform development across the SDLC
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and designing ETL/ ELT pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
