Job summary

Inspirisys in Chennai seeks a Senior SQL/PLSQL Developer with 5-7 years of SQL/PL/SQL experience to design, develop and maintain high-performance database solutions supporting our applications and BI initiatives.

You will optimize queries, model data, oversee ETL workflows, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers while collaborating with data architects and analysts to deliver scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on SQL/PL/SQL development experience.
• Strong Oracle DB knowledge; familiarity with other RDBMS a plus.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL/PLSQL Developer with 5-7 years of expertise in SQL and PL/SQL development. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance database solutions

that support our applications and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database architecture, performance optimization, and hands-on experience with data modelling and integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL and PL/SQL code, including advanced stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Collaborate with data architects, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.
• Perform advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing to enhance application and data retrieval speed.
• Architect and implement efficient database schemas, data models, and database structures for new and existing applications.
• Oversee ETL processes, data integration workflows, and data transformation activities to ensure accurate and timely data availability.
• Develop and enforce database coding standards, best practices, and documentation to ensure team-wide consistency and code quality.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior developers, conducting code reviews and fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
• Actively troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and security.

Experience

>5 years of experience in SQL and PL/SQL development, including advanced query optimization and performance tuning.

Technical Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with a strong portfolio of complex stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Significant experience with Oracle Database; additional experience with other RDBMS platforms (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) is a plus.
• Expertise in Exception handling and large datasets.
• Expertise in performance tuning, including indexing strategies, partitioning, and database optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and best practices for scalable application support.
• In-depth knowledge of ETL processes, data transformation, and integration.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, data governance, and reporting tools is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with database management tools like SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar.
