Senior PLM Administrator & Data Steward
We are seeking an analytical and technically advanced Senior PLM Administrator & Data Steward to manage and optimize our Product Lifecycle Management ecosystem. In this role, you will go beyond routine administration to deeply configure software, build complex workflows, and design the enterprise data architecture rules that power our R&D and Supply Chain teams. You will act as a critical bridge between IT, Data Analytics, and Product Development, translating strict regulatory requirements into seamless systemic controls. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who champions a "data‑first" culture, ensuring that the data we collect today is highly accurate, governed, and structured for future AI and advanced analytics utilization.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Deeply configure PLM software; map out and optimize complex workflows, customize role‑based access controls, and troubleshoot advanced operational issues.
- Map critical data integrations between the PLM system, downstream enterprise systems (e.g., SAP/ERP), analytics systems, and artwork/copy management systems.
- Conduct thorough end‑to‑end testing of PLM system updates and module implementations; translate highly technical system attributes into tangible end‑user benefits.
- Configure system constraints and workflows to proactively support and enforce critical global compliance standards, including ingredient labeling, GHS, GLP, and GMP.
Data Governance & Master Data Management (MDM)
- Design and firmly enforce data architecture rules, taxonomy, and metadata standards; maintain the enterprise business glossary to ensure a "single source of truth."
- Own the systemic obsolescence process, ensuring the automated deprecation of end‑of‑life (EOL) packaging, SKUs, and raw materials; enforce strict revision control protocols so historical iterations remain perfectly preserved and traceable.
- Champion a data‑first culture across the organization; ensure business users understand the value of treating master data as a strategic corporate asset.
Data Lifecycle Operations & Project Management
- Manage complex mass updates, routine data migrations, and supplier data integrations using advanced scripting, system import tools, and ETL principles.
- Lead bulk remediation/deduplication efforts to maintain a lean, highly accurate PLM database.
- Establish and execute global data retention and archiving protocols to maintain peak system performance while meeting legal and regulatory audit requirements.
- Manage and execute project plans for new PLM module implementations or major data initiatives; lead cross‑functional core meetings and consistently deliver complex MDM architectures and system enhancements on schedule.
Cross‑Functional Communication & Change Management
- Partner closely with R&D and Supply Chain stakeholders to translate complex data and system needs into clear Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and actionable IT deliverables.
- Identify and solve complex historical data translation challenges and cross‑system master data alignment issues between competing departments.
- Drive adoption of new data governance procedures; guide users through global process shifts and update SOPs to reflect systemic digital controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in system administration, data stewardship, or master data management within an enterprise PLM environment (e.g., Dassault, Siemens, Centric, SAP PLM).
- Proven track record of managing complex data migrations and leading cross‑functional IT/Business initiatives.
- Operational knowledge of PLM configurations, workflow building, and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of SAP/ERP supply chain touchpoints (e.g., ROH, HALB, WIP, SKU) and how they integrate with PLM data.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., FDA, GHS) and system validation principles.
- Analytical Problem Solving: diagnose and solve complex cross‑system master data alignment issues and system inefficiencies.
- Exceptional cross‑functional translation skills; act as a "bilingual" translator between highly technical IT developers and non‑technical business/R&D stakeholders.
- Diplomatic enforcement: emotional intelligence and tact required to firmly enforce strict data governance rules and overcome organizational resistance to change.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in system administration, data stewardship, or master data management within an enterprise PLM environment.
- Proficiency in advanced scripting, database querying (SQL), and ETL principles for bulk data operations.
- Experience with SAP PLM.
