Job summary

lululemon is seeking a senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, and to drive scalable AWS infrastructure. You will implement IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, promote GitOps, and enhance observability across critical services.

You will collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and platform teams, champion reliability, and reduce toil through automation. A strong cloud, devops, and security mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent
• Enable fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments across multiple environments
• Drive adoption of modern deployment strategies (e.g., blue/green, canary releases)
• Architect and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance and cost optimization
• Contribute to platform engineering initiatives for reusable infrastructure components
• Identify and eliminate manual processes through automation
• Build tools and frameworks to improve developer efficiency and self-service capabilities
• Promote DevOps and GitOps practices across engineering teams

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability Engineering:

• Design and implement observability solutions (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Define and manage SLAs, SLOs and SLIs to ensure system reliability
• Establish alerting, dashboards and proactive monitoring practices
• Drive continuous improvements in system performance and uptime
• Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
• Implement long-term fixes to prevent recurring issues
• Champion reliability engineering principles and reduce operational toil

Security, Compliance & DevSecOps:

• Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Manage IAM roles, secrets, and access controls
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Provide technical leadership in DevOps and cloud architecture decisions
• Partner with engineering, QA, product, and platform teams to deliver RFID roadmap initiatives
• Drive adoption of enterprise level DevOps best practices

Required Qualifications:

• 8-12 years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or related roles
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)
• Experience with GitOps practices and tools (ArgoCD, or similar)
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Strong scripting/programming skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar)
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration preferably Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of system design, scalability and distributed systems
• Interest in applying AI-driven solutions to enhance automation, observability and operational efficiency
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, etc.)

Preferred / Nice to Have:

• Experience with event streaming (Kafka)
• Familiarity with API gateways (KONG) or CDN tools (Akamai)
• Exposure to eCommerce, retail, or inventory management platforms
• Demonstrated curiosity and passion for exploring emerging technologies including AI/ML
