Job summary

Hevo Technologies India Private Limited is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own reliability, scalability, and observability of our cloud infrastructure. This senior, hands-on role requires deep AWS and Kubernetes expertise and the ability to set technical direction for Platform/DevOps.

You will lead incident management, design scalable IaC with Terraform and Ansible, architect multi-tenant clusters, and partner with product teams to bake reliability into the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform engineering at Staff/Lead level.
• Hands-on production Kubernetes at scale.
• Strong AWS expertise: EC2, VPC, EKS, RDS, IAM.
• Observability stack experience: OTel, Grafana, Telegraf, Influx.
• Scripting: Python, Go, or Bash.
• IaC: Terraform, Ansible.
• CI/CD design/ownership: Jenkins or similar.
• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPNs.
• On-call management and postmortems.
• Excellent cross-team communication.
• Nice to Have: multi-region or multi-cloud.
• Nice to Have: FinOps/cost optimization.
• Nice to Have: SOC 2 / GDPR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reliability, scalability, and performance of production infra on AWS, GCP and Kubernetes.
• Design and evolve observability stack—metrics, logs, traces, alerting, SLIs/SLOs, and error budgets.
• Lead incident management: on-call rotations, blameless postmortems, reducing MTTA/MTTR.
• Drive IaC practices (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Architect and operate Kubernetes clusters at scale—upgrades, autoscaling, cost optimization, multi-tenant workloads.
• Own network architecture and security posture for cloud infra (VPCs, load balancers, service mesh, zero-trust).
• Partner with product engineering to embed reliability into the software lifecycle.
• Mentor and uplevel other platform engineers; set direction and engineering best practices.
• Own capacity planning and cost optimization for cloud infrastructure.

Staff Platform Engineer

About the Role Hevo's platform moves and transforms data for thousands of customers, around the clock.

We're looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and observability of the infrastructure that makes that possible — a senior, hands‑on engineer who can both operate at depth in AWS and Kubernetes and set technical direction for the broader Platform/DevOps function.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end reliability, scalability, and performance of Hevo's production infrastructure on AWS, GCP and Kubernetes
• Design and evolve our observability stack — metrics, logs, traces, alerting, SLIs/SLOs, and error budgets
• Lead incident management: on‑call rotations, blameless postmortems, and systematically reducing MTTA/MTTR
• Drive infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, Ansible) and own CI/CD pipeline design

What We’re Looking For — Must-Haves

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform engineering roles, including meaningful time operating at Staff/Lead level
• Deep, hands‑on expertise running production Kubernetes at scale
• Strong AWS expertise (EC2, VPC, EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, security groups)
• Proven track record building observability stacks (OTel, Grafana, Telegraf, Influx or similar)
• Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Go, or Bash)
• Infrastructure‑as‑code experience (Terraform, Ansible)
• CI/CD pipeline design and ownership (Jenkins or similar)
• Solid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPNs, service mesh
• Experience owning on‑call/incident management and driving a strong postmortem culture
• Excellent communication skills — able to influence engineering decisions across teams without direct authority
• Nice to Have: Experience with multi‑region or multi‑cloud architectures
• Nice to Have: Familiarity with cost optimization / FinOps practices
• Nice to Have: Exposure to compliance‑driven environments (SOC 2, GDPR)
• Nice to Have: Prior experience at a SaaS or data infrastructure company
