Job summary

Ecolab is seeking a Platform Engineer to support enterprise data platform operations in a hybrid Bengaluru setting. You will manage Snowflake and Databricks, ensure security, governance, and automation, and collaborate with data engineering teams on ETL/ELT pipelines.

The role covers platform administration, incident resolution, performance optimization, and end-to-end disaster recovery across cloud-based data platforms, using Python, SQL, and automation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Data Platform Administration, Data Engineering, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks in enterprise environments.
• Experience implementing RBAC, access governance, security, and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Snowflake and Databricks platforms with high availability and security.
• Manage user provisioning, RBAC, and access governance across systems.
• Operate Snowflake databases, schemas, roles, and Databricks workspaces and jobs.
• Monitor performance, cost, and resource utilization; optimize where possible.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues within SLA.
• Support CI/CD, release management, and deployments using Git and Azure DevOps.

Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for platform administration, security, governance, access management, automation, troubleshooting, and production support across cloud-based data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Snowflake and Databricks platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.
• Manage user provisioning, RBAC, access governance, and permissions across Snowflake, Databricks, and integrated enterprise systems.
• Administer Snowflake warehouses, databases, schemas, roles and Databricks workspaces, clusters, SQL Warehouses, Unity Catalog, jobs, and workflows.
• Monitor platform performance, resource utilization, and costs, and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure timely issue resolution within SLA commitments.
• Support Data Engineering teams in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL/ELT pipelines and analytics workloads.
• Implement and maintain security, compliance, audit, and governance controls across enterprise data platforms.
• Implement and support end-to-end Disaster Recovery on Databricks and Snowflake platform
• Develop automation solutions using SQL, Python, APIs, and scripting to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Support CI/CD, release management, and deployment activities using Git, Azure DevOps, and related tools.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Security, Infrastructure, and Business teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure data platform solutions
