Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable enterprise infrastructure platforms that power critical services across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will drive modernization initiatives, collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams, and establish standards and roadmaps while mentoring engineers to deliver resilient, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure architecture across data center, hybrid cloud, and distributed environments.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking, application delivery, and infrastructure security including Zero Trust principles.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise platforms utilizing VMware and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong expertise in infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible); CI/CD integration with Git/Jenkins.
• Demonstrated ability to architect and deliver highly available, resilient infrastructure while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence technical and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, secure enterprise infrastructure across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Network, Security, Cloud, Database, Middleware, Product, and PMO teams to plan infrastructure solutions.
• Drive infrastructure delivery from initial engagement through architecture reviews and production deployment.
• Design resilient networking, delivery, and security architectures using enterprise technologies.
• Lead modernization initiatives focused on automation, IaC, standardization, and performance.
• Develop architecture standards, roadmaps, and documentation while mentoring teams.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, availability, and disaster recovery requirements.

Overview

The Infrastructure Engineering team is looking for a Senior Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise infrastructure platforms that power Mastercard's critical business services. The ideal candidate is a strategic technology leader with deep expertise in enterprise architecture, infrastructure engineering, and cloud technologies. They are highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and passionate about solving complex technical challenges while driving innovation, operational excellence, and platform modernization. This individual excels at partnering across engineering, security, and product organizations to deliver scalable solutions that enable business growth and provide exceptional customer experiences.

Role

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of highly available, scalable, and secure enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Partner with Engineering, Network, Security, Cloud, Database, Middleware, Product, and Program Management teams to develop infrastructure solutions that support business and technology strategies.
• Drive infrastructure solution delivery from initial business engagement through architecture reviews, financial approvals, procurement, implementation, operational readiness, and production deployment.
• Design resilient networking, application delivery, and security architectures utilizing enterprise technologies including load balancing, web application firewalls, API gateways, and distributed infrastructure platforms.
• Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives focused on automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), platform standardization, performance optimization, resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Develop enterprise architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and infrastructure documentation while mentoring engineering teams and promoting engineering best practices.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions meet stringent requirements for security, compliance, availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and performance across mission-critical platforms.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure architecture across data center, hybrid cloud, and distributed computing environments.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking, application delivery, and infrastructure security, including Zero Trust principles and modern network architectures.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise platforms utilizing VMware, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), load balancing, web application firewalls, API gateways, and distributed infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD integration, and configuration management using tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
• Demonstrated ability to architect and deliver highly available, resilient, and secure infrastructure solutions while collaborating effectively across cross-functional engineering and business teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.

Desirable Or Additional Capabilities

• Expertise in infrastructure performance engineering, including capacity planning, scalability testing, and performance optimization.
• Advanced experience creating technical architecture documentation and executive presentations using Microsoft Visio.
• Experience supporting mission-critical financial services platforms with stringent availability, security, resiliency, and regulatory compliance requirements.
