Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Engineer to support Enterprise AI applications, including agentic and machine-learning AI products. You will be the senior technical escalation point for complex production issues, working closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure and Support teams to improve reliability, stability and the overall user experience. This role will suit someone who enjoys deep technical investigation as much as improving how things work. You will lead incident resolution, strengthen operational readiness before releases, build practical support documentation and help less experienced engineers develop their own operational confidence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Take ownership of complex production incidents and service issues, coordinating the right technical teams through to resolution.Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across AI applications, APIs, integrations, infrastructure, security, authentication and data components.Produce clear RCAs, corrective actions and preventative recommendations, identifying recurring problems and driving lasting fixes.Support Enterprise AI services, including AI agents, knowledge bases, integrations and data-quality issues, while monitoring performance, service health and user feedback.Support production deployments, release validation and change governance, ensuring monitoring, runbooks, support models and knowledge articles are ready before go-live.Build and maintain high-quality runbooks, troubleshooting guides, known-error records and documentation of application architecture, dependencies and support processes.Drive improvements in monitoring, automation, supportability and operational efficiency, including opportunities to reduce manual effort through AI and automation.Mentor Operations Engineers and help develop a consistent, practical support model across the Enterprise AI environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BRINGS

Senior Production Support Experience

You have substantial experience in application support, production support, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, infrastructure operations or a similar technical operations role. You are comfortable taking ownership of high-impact issues, working independently and bringing structure to complex, fast-moving situations.

Incident Leadership and Root-Cause Analysis

You have a strong track record of investigating and resolving complex production incidents. You can look beyond the immediate fix, communicate progress clearly, identify patterns and turn technical findings into corrective actions that improve long-term reliability.

Releases, Cloud and Operational Readiness

Hands-on deployment experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally Jenkins, is important. You understand build and release pipelines, deployment troubleshooting, smoke testing and release validation, and you know what needs to be in place before an application can be supported effectively in production.

Enterprise Applications and Integrations

You have experience supporting cloud-hosted enterprise applications and can work confidently with REST APIs, JSON, authentication and authorisation, OAuth, SSO, service-to-service communication and wider system integrations. Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ITSM platform, together with Incident, Problem and Change Management, will be valuable.

Observability, Automation and Documentation

You are comfortable using monitoring, logging, observability and application-performance tools to understand what is happening in production. You create documentation that people genuinely use, from runbooks and knowledge articles to architecture and dependency records. Experience with Git, PowerShell and automation or scripting is useful; Python is preferred.

An Interest in Enterprise AI

You are technically curious and interested in how AI services operate in the real world. You do not need experience with every technology below, but you should be comfortable working across a modern AI and cloud environment and keen to continue learning.

TECHNOLOGIES YOU MAY HAVE WORKED WITH

Experience across a number of the following would be particularly useful: Microsoft Azure, Azure Container Apps, containerised deployments and infrastructure observability.Generative AI, LLMs, Azure OpenAI Services, AI agents, agentic workflows, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, AI monitoring or evaluation.CI/CD and Jenkins, Git/source control, PowerShell, Python, automation and scripting.Azure AI Foundry, Elasticsearch/Kibana, LangChain, Neo4j, Microsoft Copilot technologies, MLOps, AI governance or regulated AI environments.
