Job summary

Nestlé S.A. in Goa's Ponda factory seeks an experienced professional to manage proposals, design, procurement, implementation, start-up and closure of capital investment projects within the assigned portfolio.

You will ensure charter, URS, design specs, Nestlé standards and local regulations are met on safety, quality, cost and time, with seamless integration into operations. The role supports the CAPEX governance cycle, coordinates with cross-functional teams, and promotes sustainable solutions

Job description

Manage the proposal, design, procurement, implementation, start-up and closure of capital investment projects at the Ponda factory within the assigned portfolio — ensuring the project charter, URS, design specifications, Nestlé standards and local regulations are met on safety, quality, cost and time, with a vertical start-up and seamless integration into existing plant operations. Support the factory CAPEX governance cycle (ATLAS roadmap, NIMT credits, EAC booking, capitalisation and project closure). Promote environment-friendly and sustainable solutions throughout.

A. Proposal & CAPEX planning (pre-design)

• Prepare project proposals: one-pager, I2L, Form 1D, CST/financials (aligned with Finance Controller ), Gantt, charter; create/release credits in NIMT/CIAT.
• Support the End-to-End Project Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure it is followed.
• Contribute inputs to the 4-year ATLAS CAPEX roadmap, Group 3 (I&R) investments and annual Small Purchase credit.
• Incorporate site constraints (layout, master plan, shutdown windows, utilities) into project definition.

B. Design phase

• Execute basic & detailed design per Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, URS and TPM unit-operation characteristics (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, reliability).
• Finalise layouts, P&IDs, GA drawings and master-plan updates with draftspersons, PTC and consultants; ensure safety-by-design for construction and operation.
• Prepare CCDs / change requests where scope, cost or timing changes.

C. Procurement & vendor management

• Prepare BOQ, technical specifications and bid comparisons (3 quotes); prepare SVJ / NLCVJ where justified.
• Raise PR/PO in SAP with HO / CAPEX Procurement & NBS; manage PO amendments, milestone payments and invoice/SES/GR closure.
• Coordinate cross-factory ordering where applicable; conduct FAT / pre-dispatch inspections; track deliveries and long-lead items.

D. Implementation phase

• Ensure engineering implementation (civil, equipment erection, piping, utilities, E&A) per timing, cost, quality and URS.
• Plan and execute shutdown-linked work with Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance and HR (day-wise plans, shift/weekly-off changes, line stoppages).
• Select, qualify and coordinate contractors; ensure permit-to-work, LOTO, HIRA and SH&E compliance on site at all times.
• Track progress via Gantt / DOR and report status, risks and mitigations.

E. Start-up, handover & documentation

• Support the start-up manager to ensure smooth transition to operations after qualification and verification (commissioning, SAT, trials, flushing).
• Close line release checklist, Change Management Form (CMF), HACCP updates and punch points with CQA/Safety; train operators and maintenance.
• Prepare engineering documentation & final report; feed lessons learnt to the Maintenance Prevention (MP) system.

F. Financial control, capitalisation & closure

• Plan and track EAC booking; maintain rolling cost sheets and SAP actual/commitment dumps; reconcile with NIMT.
• Manage CWIP, asset commissioning certificates and timely capitalisation; technical and financial closure of projects in NIMT.
• Support bi-annual asset write-off, special charges and CAPEX audit requirements.

G. Sustainability & Continuous Excellence
