Job summary

Oracle India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Network Hardware Engineer in Bengaluru to lead testing and automation of networking devices and protocols across large-scale systems. You will design test plans, automate scripts, and work with lab setups to validate performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes deep protocol knowledge (BGP, MPLS, VxLAN, EVPN, OSPF) with hands-on experience in IXIA test gear and Python programming.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in testing and automation of Networking devices at system level.
• Mandatory expertise with IXIA or similar Network Test equipment.
• Fluency in BGP, MPLS, VxLAN, EVPN OSPF, QoS networking.
• Experience with RDMA, RoCE, Infiniband preferable.
• Experience with Python or other OO programming language.
• Experience with optical transceivers (100G, 400G, 800G).
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Good judgment to influence product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics/Hardware Engineering or related field.
• Preference for CCNA, CCNP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on networking protocols and scale use cases.
• Perform functional, scalability, performance, interoperability, regression, and security testing of network devices such as routers.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Configure, deploy, and manage test environments using lab setups for scale validations.
• Have strong troubleshooting experience and analyze test results to identify root causes of failures.
• Record detailed test results, create test reports, and maintain documentation through the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with network vendors and designers to resolve issues.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Job description

Senior Network Hardware Engineer

The position requires the engineer to work on qualification of Networking devices, fabric, protocols with a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the automation of test plans. As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint, this support will include evaluation and test of highly scaled up network infrastructure, analyze results, and implement corrective actions for reliability, performance, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in testing and automation of Networking devices at system level
• Mandatory expertise with traffic generator like IXIA or similar Network Test equipment.
• Fluency in BGP, MPLS, VxLAN, EVPN OSPF, QoS Networking device hardware
• Experience in RDMA, RoCE, Infiniband is preferable
• Experience with Python or other object-oriented programming language
• Experience with optical transceiver (100G, 400G, 800G), EEPROM, DOM and Optical cables
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent judgment to influence product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics/Hardware Engineering or related field
• Preference will be given for candidates with certifications like CCNA, CCNP, etc.

• Have strong Troubleshooting experience and analyze test results, identify root causes of failures
• Record detailed test results, create test reports, and maintain clear documentation throughout the test lifecycle.
